Poll question: We're doomed... but by what?
Seems like civilization is on the verge of collapse, but I can't decide what I should worry about the most. Is it...

1. And I Blame the NeoCons/**Co/Corp-America for it!

And their Int'l cronies.

Sad. Really, truly sad when "no one" pays heed to top Scientists 'round the globe. Don't they care about their children & grandchildren, too?

Greed. Power. How sad.

Edited to add: Voted for Global Warming

7. my thought, with a mix of religious intolerance from any sect.
I think that religions will be our greatest enemy before we can mature as a species and deal with real problems.

They have a lot to answer for. And their cruddy badly translated piece of propaganda won't answer for them.

9. We're doomed by the "lot".
The "lot", being what Mr. Creosote ordered in "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life"....he of course was the morbidly obese man in the restaurant, who agreed to also eat the 'wafer-thin' mint. Then he exploded.

Have a nice day, all!!!;-)

16. Seconded.
Look, there are two types of people (ok, there are more than that, but bear with me...)
Those who look forward, and think our best days are ahead of us. They are called 'Progressives', 'Utopians', and 'The Enlightenment'.
Then there are those who look backwards, and think our best days are behind us.
They are called 'Romantics', 'Reactionaries', and 'Dark Agers'.
So... do we look back to 'the good old days' or forward to a better world? Do we try to turn back the clock, or advance society?
Every problem listed at the top of this thread can be beaten... if we look ahead and solve the problems. Whining about how hard the problems are will not help things.
Remember this: Engineers take a large problem, break it into small bits, and solve each bit individually... eventually, the large problem is solved.
Politicians take large problems, lump them with other large problems, and create something no one can solve.

11. Corporate / U.S. Government Merger
Over the years this relationship has slowly been stripping the citizens of this nation from their government, due to the elected representatives looking out for their best interest, instead of the best interests of 'We The People' equally and fairly.

With the theft of the 2000 election, George W. Bush made good on his promise to run the country as a corporation. Bush has successfully made a power grab for the corporations by fully installing a 'Government Of, By, & For the Corporations.' 'We The People' have been enslaved, and are now subjects of our Corporate Government.

12. I would say "all of the above", except I think the bird flu is a red
herring, total and complete BS designed to frighten people. people MIGHT die of it (and a few have) but 45 MILLION people have died of AIDS, and suddenly it is in the background.

I don't even worry about the terrorists that much (unless you are referring to the bush-cheney cabal), but I do worry about ignorance, fundamentalism, hatred, bigotry, greed, global warming, etc.

13. I chose "other"
because you had no choice called "ALL OF THE ABOVE"!!!! I would really be the most worried by Mother Nature tho'!! It's not nice to fool Her!! The whole damn World is out of balance, (or "sync") whichever you prefer. Where do we run? Where do we hide? We've brought it upon ourselves I'm sorry to say. I think we all need to begin getting used to the simple life, or "back to basics" People survived long before electricity, and cars and gas and oil. Maybe then we can appreciate the really important things in our lives. We are all soooooooooo spoiled !!

14. I like "Global collapse".
The rich can have all the money they want. It won't be useful.

I already have too many "pre-existing" medical conditions, so all I'd beg for is a merciful, quick death. Better than what murderers and rapists on death row get. O8)
