She used him in her Congressional race. And also, he's a State Representative, not a State Senator. Reps are really at the bottom of the pecking order with the state political organizations - sort of hangin on hoping to be tagged to run for a State Senate seat, or even Congress. So for one of them to basically call a United States Congresswoman a liar is a BIG deal, and indicates he's getting a lot of heat from his constituents and also from the state and national GOP to help them isolate Jean and focus all the negative reaction on her.
