Local News Last Night Reported Schmidt called Murtha a COWARD!

This is in Denver...showed her speaking and before the sound bite, the reporter went on and on about how Murtha was decorated, etc., etc., and then said Schmidt called him a coward before the sound bite played of Schmidt actually doing it. Ended the story with something like, "The Democrats called the vote a political stnut." It was great!

BTW, I had not seen Jean Schmidt's nasty little speech prior to this, and as they started booing she kept right on, and it was obvious it was meant for Murtha--her slur--no way can you spin it any other way.

As I recall in one of the first accounts, Schmidt referred to this retired Marine/constituent she claimed to be quoting, by name. I'd sure like to hear what he has to say about this attack on Murtha, and whether she quoted her source accurately/in-context.

Bubp also managed to avoid going to Iraq despite being in the Marine Reserves, when young men & women in his town were sent there.

from the beginning, she prefaces her statement pointedly and specifically to Mr. Murtha, she mentions him by name as the recipient of the message from Danny.
Yes it was a personal attack, and one made by a man faced with the knowledge that his service to this country, and his ideology are not worthy of acknowledgment by anyone other that Schmidt. Sad lonely little man....
To Schmidt, she's to stupid to know that she has just annihilated her political career. The best she can hope for is a continued spot on 'willie cunninghams' (local extreme RW radio host)show. She certainly will never have a substantial voice in the house again.
