7. Well DUH. There's ALWAYS an exit strategy. Don't let anyone
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 06:43 PM by Solly Mack
tell you otherwise. I know many will lie about it and some will speak out of ignorance - but there is always an exit plan.

The war college doesn't make a plan to go in that doesn't include a plan to get out. It just doesn't happen.

America has "plans" for invasions of almost anywhere for the "just in case" - likewise, those invasion plans always include an exit plan.

The problem is - people will lie about it.

12. They expected to leave on Rose Bowl floats ... eating BonBons
Their plan to get out hinged on a slam dunk theory. That's not what they got when they got there.

Plans had better change.

19.  The "exit" includes various scenarios - always does
But when your President doesn't allow you to exit and your President makes it all the more worse, then plans have to be adapted, yes - but the thing is, the war college continues to adapt the exit plans. It's been Bush that has prevented those exit plans from being used.

The military has been acting on Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld orders - instead of actual military doctrine. Military doctrine demands there exist an exit plan...it's up to the powers that be whether those plans are used.

8. yes they'll release the details as soon as the Dems detail their plan
the GOP bullies used to just cheat off our spelling tests. Now they take our plans, erase our names, and present it as theirs. No wonder the Democrats have no ideas!

to win the Vietnam war.

He asked us to trust him on that.

13. The Pentagon
has a plan for everything.

Everything.

We have a plan for invading Luxembourg. We have a plan for invading Canada. We have a plan for invading Trinidad-Tobago.

There's a whole department that does nothing but come up with and update plans. Started with Napoleon. Germany's having plans helped start WWI, too. Sometimes a good thing, sometimes bad, but we always have a plan.

21. Well
We have great plans for war. Notice we won this one, in a way (regime toppled, etc.).

We're just incapable of planning for peace.

25. Remember the Saddam statue ordeal and the "capture"
They'll probably fake some nonsense and show the Iraqi's cheering and nonsense and than keep some of them there a little while longer in reality. Just like with "Mission Accomplished" and all the other nonsense.

below 100,000.

But, at least we know this war is not political or anything.

Nixon claimed he had a secret plan to end the Vietnam war, too. Only it turns out he really didn't.
