DU BREAKING NEWS: Congressman Pete Sessions faces Dem challenger in 2006
I don't think anyone else has picked up on this yet, so this may be a Democratic Underground exclusive - Pauline Dixon will run against Congressman Pete Sessions (R) in Texas Congressional District 32 in northern Dallas County.

Pauline was at the DCDP annual Fish Fry tonight in Dallas when she told everyone about her bid. Here's Pauline (on the right) with our very own ginbarn:

Message to all Dallas County DUers: Pauline needs every ounce of help and support we can give her to defeat Sessions in 2006. He's gonna fight dirty - he's done it before, and he'll do it again. It's time to chase him out and put Pauline in Capitol Hill!!

5. Pauline Is A Class Act - Pete Sessions Is An Asshole
I pigeonholed Sessions in 2004 and asked him "if I cannot find a job why should you get your job back."

His answer: "We are not an employment agency."

At that point the audience attacked him verbally.

Nevertheless he won in the general election.

I hope that Pauline kicks his lilly white ass to hell and back.

8. A gentle reminder: This is how Pete Sessions runs his campaigns
Just to keep all of my fellow DUers up to speed:

On Monday, Sessions denied that he would stoop so low as to steal Frost's yard signs, and he challenged the Democrat's staff to prove him wrong.

That dare, said Frost spokesman Justin Kitsch, is what persuaded the Democrat's staff to pull out the Dallas police report.

The Oct. 27, 2002, report said Sessions was caught pulling up yard signs for Pauline Dixon, his underfunded Democratic opponent at the time.

20. And don't forget the time he said he doesn't represent gays
At a town hall meeting, a gay constituent challenged him on his votes, and ol' Pete said he doesn't represent gays.

9. I've met dear Pauline and I've slept in Pete's bed
Of course he wasn't in it at the time. Southwest Texas State University in 1973 at Elliot Dormitory. He had an awesome roommate named Chuck who was a dear freind and future husband of my own roommate. Sometimes after staying out drinking to late we'd all just crash there, though it was highly illegal. Can't believe I risked getting thrown out of school for that.

Anyway Pete was a real prude. Not sharp enough to get into an uppercrust school even though daddy was a federal judge. And no personality, no fun, at all. Extremely good looking, but man, what a waste of some good genes. The only exception to his prudeness was that he streaked through the cafeteria, which was a big fad back then. Sort of an odd thing for someone who otherwise didn't socialize much. I guess he just figured we weren't on his level. No big loss.

Never dreamed he would grown up to be such a jerk. Like a Tom DeLay in training.

I first met Pauline Dixon in 2002 at the Texas Democratic Convention in El Paso. She's a wonderful lady, a former schoolteacher. She's quite elderly, but sharp for her age. I would sure love to see her beat Pete.

16. Unfortunately, the site listed has apparently shut down...
...but hopefully Pauline is working on getting a new site set up. She'll need to hit the ground running if she wants to beat Sessions next November.

I've already started sending her ideas for campaign bumper stickers. I'm a little wired right now.

18. Yes, I noticed that. However, 166 archived saves from her 2002 web site
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 02:33 AM by Nothing Without Hope
ARE available. Maybe some of the archived pages at that Minerva site - if you click on that link to the archived pages from the 2002 election there are dozens of archived saves - could be used to help build a new site? (I know nothing about building web sites, so take this as an ignorant but well-meant suggestion.)

To see the archived web pages from 2002, go here:
http://lcweb4.loc.gov/elect2002/catalog/1822.html
and click on "Archived Site." There are 166 saved web pages. Here is one of them, from Nov 1, 2002:
http://wasearch.loc.gov:80/e22k/20021101080735/http://w...

It features this bumper sticker-like banner head and this photo:

We can't win elections if we don't challenge EVERY race!

Thanks, Pauline!

Although, reading the crap he pulled last time, I can't imagine what kind of voters would elect that POS. Funny, I think I know....the same kind that elected the ones we have in OK!
