Scott McClellan has the appeal of a positive pap smear
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/1014-15.htm

Mokhiber: Second question.

In the past seven months, 11 soldiers and three Marines have committed suicide in Iraq. About a dozen more Army deaths are being investigated as suicides. According to a front page USA Today article yesterday, these numbers suggest a rate in Iraq of suicide above normal. Does the President have any thoughts about why this is happening?

Scott McClellan: I haven't seen the specific reports, but you were talking about who?

<snip>

David Gregory NBC: : Can I follow up on Pat Robertson?

Scott McClellan: Go ahead.

David Gregory NBC: : Will the President -- besides not finding those comments helpful, I wonder if the President feels that he should have no involvement with Pat Robertson, whatever, going forward, and that Pat Robertson should not play any role in any kind of unofficial way in helping him in reelection, in any kind of supportive role.

Scott McClellan: No, again --

2. But, but, but....
the Bushies were sending "U.S. Embassy officials to Gaza to interview Palestinian students who have applied for Fulbright scholarships in the United States..."

How pure and good and holy can a president be??

4. His Mother is a Bigwig in Texas
McClellan's mother, Carole Keeton Strayhorn, is the Texas comptroller; McClellan is a three-time campaign manager for his mother.

3. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeww.
What a SMASHING metaphor! I love that. So much more intellectual than "McClellan is a pile of dogshit," or "That 50 gallon drum of toxic waste McClellan."

May I use it?

That goes way beyond "Sticks and Stones..."

Great deep negative conotations.

9. But this is a POSITIVE "Scottie & me"!
Normally, Russell Mokhiber is viewed as a guy who's just out to advance a political agenda by much of the rest of the press corps. But this time, he actually got one of the "mainstream" reporters jumping in on his side.

That's evidence that the worm is turning, if ever so slightly.

10. As if the mainstream media weren't out to advance Bush
and his agenda. That's where the focus should be, not on Mokhiber's attempt to get a decent answer from this mismanaged administration.

11. Scotty is the TA to Ari's Prof.Emeritus of Lying
Edited on Wed Oct-15-03 03:42 PM by The_Gopher
scotty lacks the flair that ari had. it's almost no fun to watch.

i think ari knew that he was often full of shit, and he knew that everyone else knew that he was full of this, but he didn't really care.
whereas its obvious that scotty knows he's full of shit, but he hasn't yet grasped that everyone else knows that he's full of shit.

if i had a dollar for everytime i heard him say "iraq is the central front in the war on terror." just once, i wish someone would blurt out, "no, really? i've never heard that! hold on, could you say that again so i can write it down?"
