IMHO nothing hurt the Gannon/Guckert scandal more than when people starting focusing on his sexuality and not the real crap he was doing. Soon it became all about Guckert being a boy escort and not a deliberate plant in that press corp to keep the others in line and to astroturf phony stories and lob softball questions. But once people started talking about if Guckert was gay or not, that was the end of discussing his real intentions and the story died shortly thereafter.

For once I'd like to see a scandal where we don't get into the "gay" angle here. It has no bearing on all the damage Rove has done to this country.

18. I Wish We Could, But The Corporate Media Won't Let That Happen

When the long sorrid history of this regime is written...sometime in the future...there will be plenty of room to look at and investigate the sexual corruption of the Repugnicans...especially when it comes to closeted gays in their own ranks, but right now, it's a distraction from bigger, more singular issues that affect a lot more people.
