1. Kind of interesting...
Many of the same situations:

1. Poverty
2. Starvation
3. Exploitation
4. Repression

are prevalent here in the good old USA. The biggest difference is in North Korea the govt. engages in centralized suppression of the news. In the USA, the media engages in de-centralized self-censorship to keep their jobs.

Other than that, some of this could have been shot in rural areas like Appalachia or in the slums of many a city.

If you haven't had the horror already, from the American Prospect check out...
Dear Leader's Paper Moon

Kim Il Sung and Moon 1991. Moon's front organizations have been involved
with our nation's negotiations with NK at least ever since this trip.

4. I read that. Thanks for posting. Chilling, and all at DU should read.
I don't often admonish my fellow DUers to check out an article, but you are so right about this one. Sun Myung Moon and Kim Jong Il are two of a kind, and the right wing cabal in this nation is more than happy to empower them. Read this one, folks.

9. The world has no clue as to who is driving the bus.
The Moon organization brags that not only do they pay a role in our nation's discussion with NK but they brag they played a pivitol role in just getting CNN in a position to cover the '94 talks.

wonder why TV doesn't tell the nation Moon has more to do with our political climate than anyone? hahaha They owe him.

Ga read this?

5. Yes watched it with interest.
He is a one sharp guy. He has principles and the balls to back them up. To bad we don't have enough elected people to the same.

10. Yeah, I watched that last night
Pretty depressing.

They showed people ferrying human waste out of a sewage container to use for crop fertilizer.

Kim Il Jong is a madman.
