Headline of the day! :: "White House declines to totally rule out torture"
Edited on Sun Nov-13-05 07:56 PM by jefferson_dem
WASHINGTON (AFP) - In an important clarification of President George W. Bush's earlier statement, a top White House official refused to unequivocally rule out the use of torture, arguing the US administration was duty-bound to protect Americans from terrorist attack.

You gotta love this lede from the AFP. White House declines to totally rule out torture, and they refuse to take positions on spousal abuse and abusing kittens too.

The US would never condone torture.

8. Those 44 percent better hope they never fall prey to torture, instigated
by their own government's actions and condoning of torture world wide. Proud to American? Not me!

12. Only justified if used on those who think it's justified. Libby first!
And then Karl Rove next!

7. Hadley and Cheney are working to negotiate some loopholes, it seems.
Unbelievable. I mean, seriously. These people truly have no qualm with being the criminal bastards they are.

The only difference between them and brutal dictators like Saddam is simply a matter of scale.

11. It already has
The War Crimes Act of 1996 (USC Title 18 Part I Ch 118 § 2441) makes any violations of Geneva punishable by imprisonment and/or death.

All of these idiots should be in jail.

9. Remember, 'laws' are only good if they stop OTHER PEOPLE from doing things
The GOPhascists really do think that laws are how they tell OTHER PEOPLE what they can and cannot do! That's the way they enforce them, too!

A few misleading statements about a blow-job? Impeachable.
A campaign of LIES and FRAUDS that lead to war crimes, the death of tens of thousands, and plunder for corporate cronies? Reelectable!
