Joe Conason said he heard from source: Rove assistant speaking against him
I forgot to post it when I heard it so I may be a little off. The main point was that Rove is not out of the woods and that Fitzgerald is still digging.

This is just another piece of information that may show that this is still not over from Rove's perspective.

Rove's assistant speaking against Rove? Hoo boy.

Heh.

I love Consason, btw. Always so decent and full of integrity.

(and it may be shallow of me, but he makes my heart go piddy pat as well.)

3. Fitz wouldn't be talking about a 2nd grand jury if Rove was off the hook.

NOTHING, political is done in the WH without Rove's approval. NOTHING.

10. I believe you're misstating Fitz's words re: the 2nd grand jury
Fitzgerald said it was common procedure to seek another grand jury or to keep one available after ending an investigation. He said nothing about Rove being on or off any hooks and made clear to tell the press not to read anything into the investigation at this point.

12. Okay, here's the transcript of what was said at the press conference
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/28/AR2005102801340.html

>FITZGERALD: This grand jury's term has expired by statute; it could not be extended. But it's in ordinary course to keep a grand jury open to consider other matters, and that's what we will be doing.<

I know that there was something else said about not reading anything into the fact that the original grand jury was over and that we all needed to have patience and let the investigation play out...

7. Joe Conason?
Well I guess I should step up my campaign to send more emails to cspan producers asking them to get Joe Conason on their program. They haven't asked him back in ages.

9. I heard it, too. Got your back.
Joe didn't want to get more specific. Conason is usually right. I believe it.

11. the only name out there for a Rove aide

is one Susan Ralston. And she's been making multiple trips before the grand jury in the last week or two, or something of the kind.

Fitz is netting all the fish one by one, smallest ones first.

13. He said he only had one source for it, but it was a trusted source
so he was willing to mention it, but not report it as fact
