Chris Mathews...was it good tonight?
I saw the show Tuesday (Monday?) and it was excellent. He started off with WHIG and it went uphill from there. He said he was coving the storry all week. Last night he said he put off his leak story to cover bombings in Jordan. I turned it off.

I don't get home in time to see it. Should I record the rerun for Thursday night? Seems like the comments here are that it was preempted? Or not as good?

How was it?

1. Oh, He's on a Roll, Nightly!
Regardless of what some fellow DU'ers say, Chris Mathews is as close to being on-target doling out the scandals, as any Bush worshiper could be.

And notice they're airing the show twice nightly.

That tells us "someone" big wants to make sure most don't miss this.

3. Did he kick ass re Chalabi?
Someone needs to stand up for the thousands of lives Chalabi and the WHIGs have wasted!

6. His last remark during the Chalabi protion of the evening was grand
After a remark by guest about Chalabi being a US puppet... Tweety said something like: I'd feel better knowing he was a puppet of the US instead of the other way around.

4. I haven't watched Chris much
because I got sick of his endless shilling for Bush. But I've watched it a few time lately and find him almost tragic, like he's been soooo let down by his boy king.

He keeps doing spots like "What can Bush do to regain his popularity" segments. Almost like he's trying to help choreograph the turn around. Like cheering for the horse that is running at the back of the pack. It's kind of sad.

Bush is a disaster and the sooner those who supported him, for whatever reasons, admit it, the sooner we can move on and do something about changing the direction this country is going.

Chris needs to be as hard on Bush, whom he voted for, as he was on Clinton. This is so much bigger than a blow job. Chris is still feeling betrayed by the blow job when the focus should be feeling betrayed about a war, a deficit, and incompetance up the wazzoo.

5. Yes tonight it was ok
but let's not forget just the other night, where he accused Dems of racially(?) smearing Alito as an Italian-American who was soft on the mob.

A point that was completely made up out of whole cloth (by someone Republican else I have to imagine)who told Chris Mathews to push it that night. Disgusting. Made up. Untrue.

So, it's really never good even when it's good because you know he is capable of bs like that.

The upshot is that Chris Mathews has no credibility to me even when he is saying things that I want to hear. He's over. Done. Just like Bush.

9. His blog is truthful
He pulls no punches. This really surprises me. I wish his show would be as anti * as his blog which is quite insightful. I wonder if he's been threatened about being that truthful.

10. I'm familiar with that article - written by SHRUM, not Mathews
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 12:10 AM by Phoebe Loosinhouse
It's written by Bob Shrum and is a great article. But it in no way reflects Mathews viewpoints except that he does allow people of differing viewpoints to have a forum on his blog. I think the previous poster to Shrum was Buchanan.

7. He was good as usual, but he did give rather too much face time to
Liar Andrea Mitchell.

12. LOL... How about "the SHOW was good"...?
I know Tweety still can't resist shilling for the impressive Mr. Bush. But what I like is the way his show has POUNDED the CIA leak matter. He has covered it relentlessly. Tweety's far from perfect, but if it weren't for him and a few others (Keith Olbermann comes to mind), the CIA leak story would hardly ever have made it to TeeVee.

Remember, Tweety was reporting on this at least a year ago! How many of the "masses" even knew about the Plame matter back then?
