What would that be, somewhere around 100 dead? Just looked it up: Normal Passenger Seats Available: Up to 92 troops or 64 paratroops or 74 litter patients.

The other question is, why was the airstrip not secured before the landing?

3. Btw, Gen. Abizaid said he was on that plane that was nearly hit

I heard him on NPR say that the plane "banked" a direction and shot off all their flares. He said that the reserves that were on the plane thought it was "fun", but he was "terrified".

Seriously, despite the politics I don't want to see that happen. It just highlights how much trouble we are in there and how we need effective leadership.
