Portsmouth, Ohio's A1 headline today: ‘Election chaos' Diebold blamed
http://www.portsmouth-dailytimes.com/articles/2005/11/09/news/local_news/1news_chaos.txt

only the 1st 3 paragraphs are on the website, but , according to the print edition, apparently the delay is because the machines were miscounting and total number of votes cast did not match the combined totals of each candidate.

i think this story is on the AP wire, if someone can find it

no surpise there.

oh, and incidentally, portsmouth is right in the middle of the district hackett ran for congress in. not implying anything, but on has to wonder...

And Kerry/Edwards DID win NC, too.

The machines are STILL the key to the fraud.

8. Scioto County went for Hackett by a large margin (65% to 35%)
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 05:14 PM by theHandpuppet
As did the four eastern "rural", poorer counties in the 2nd: Pike, Scioto, Brown and Adams. Right after that election, Scioto's punchcard system was replaced by Diebold machines. Portsmouth is not in the middle of that district but is in the "blue" eastern counties of the district, with the more prosperous and populous Warren, Clermont and Hamilton Counties to the west going for Schmidt.

Here is the breakdown of voting in the Hackett/Schmidt race: http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050802/NEWS01/308020014
