SARATOGA SPRINGS -- The Democrats cleaned house at City Hall...
SARATOGA SPRINGS -- The Democrats cleaned house at City Hall, and now it belongs to them.

Only incumbents Tom McTygue, a Democrat, and Matt McCabe, an independent, retained their City Council seats.

According to returns Tuesday night, minus 600 absentee ballots, Valerie Keehn and Mayor Michael Lenz ran neck-and-neck as results were reported. But Democrat Keehn squeaked ahead by about 140 votes in a reverse replay of Lenz's 80-vote win over incumbent Mayor Kenneth Klotz in 2003, a race that had been too close to call on that election night. --snip--

Saratoga Springs has nearly 18,000 registered voters, including 7,765 Republicans, 5,200 Democrats, 762 Independence Party, 164 Green Party and 3,746 nonaffiliated voters.

to home. Lenz is a cheerleader for neo-cons and it'll be nice not to see his puss every five minutes, promoting pigs.Saratoga state park is my heaven on earth, Bruno and his bunch keep finding reasons to sell it, yesterdays election will hinder that.

2. Interesting.
It's not like Saratoga County is a Democratic stronghold. At least I don't recall it being one when I went to school there in the 70s.

4. Let's hear it for the Spa City
It is so very hard to be a democrat in this area of NY state. The neo-cons had taken over all positiosn of power. It is good to see some local, small-town information come across on DU.

9. Skidmore Students Sank to Sophomoric Humor - I have one....
At Skidmore College, student Democrats sank to sophomoric humor by distributing condoms with wrappers urging students to 'screw the Republicans' by voting for the Democrats. The students voting there were clearly Democratic, though apparently not enough to have changed the outcome of the races.
