18. Absolutely Merwin. A total waste of sorely needed funds for California.

As much as a victory may be tempting to look at, and it is great that these illegitimate propositions will be 'closely' voted down. (another convenience).

I think we are back at square one. We remain vulnerable to those who are counting the votes because we still have no idea if they are being counted accurately. That problem has not been remedied and we cannot ignore that simply because we had a good night.

We won. That is great. However did we win because there is so much heat on the governship and has been for some time? Has that entered anyone elses mind?

Was it perhaps actually a landslide and none of the propositions had a chance anyway?

There is proof of three previous fraudulent elections. I don't think because we are back to square one today that we should now express confidence in our election system and welcome electronic machines that violate a legitimate voting process.

My one concern, despite the 'victories' is private companies still count the votes and the citizens remain vulnerable to such tabulation.

WE must be the ones that count our votes. We must eliminate electronic machines that violate the vital transparency needed for a legitimate election.

I do not believe even with winning tonight, which were not true advantageous wins but more defensive wins, that we can feel confident in not really knowing who is counting the votes.

Not companies like Diebold and Election Systems and Software and any other private non-transparent tabulating process.

We need to address to core disease which is lack of access for citizens to witness the tabulation of the votes and private companies counting our votes.

5. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let it be so-- 75 is the linch pin....
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 01:13 AM by mike_c
If 75 falls, Arnold's political future is finished, but if it survives, he will still have delivered a HUGE gift to his corporate cronies-- private access to the political process with labor's opposition voice on behalf of working people significantly muffled.
