Republican Support Plummeting

Recent polling indicates that support for Congressional Republicans is at their lowest level of support in many years. This piece from NPR's Cokie Roberts notes that, head-to-head, Republicans rate lower than Democrats on every issue but terrorism, and on that issue the two parties are tied. In the latest ABC/Washington Post poll registered voters (RVs) were asked if they were to vote for one party to represent them in Congress, which would they choose:

Congressional GOP approval ratings are even lower now then after their unsuccessful impeachment proceedings. Now: 35% approve/61% disapprove. 3/99: 40% approve/56% disapprove.

Polls such as this one are very encouraging. With congressional elections a year away and steadily approaching, I will be working very hard to recruit and help progressive candidates, to unseat this Republican leadership, and to take back the House.

I look forward to the battles of the coming months and will call upon many of you to help out in our efforts to bring real leadership to Washington. I also look forward to the opportunity, should Democrats win back the majority, to become Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and finally begin open and public hearings about CIA leaks, falsified intelligence, bias in the media, the abuses of the patriot act, and all of the administration malfeasance that we have had to endure for the past 5 years.

15. How've you done all that great work on ER without knowing this?
Hey MB,

I'm using FireFox of late. I right click and select "Copy Image Location".

On Internet Explorer, right click, then click "Properties" and the url in the new panal is what you want.

Then "paste" them into the post/reply.

Test on Friday. :)

I don't know what the happened the first time.

Those early days on the Daily Thread were a learning experience. I've come a long way, but still have a lot to learn. :)

9. You are correct, as noted in the recent GAO report. Why the Dems outside
the CBC haven't been screaming about this, one can only speculate. Conyers is a real national treasure-a true patriot at a time when others allow polls to dictate their actions.
