If you support offshoring, give us a quick and painless death.
Don't make people beat each other up, beg for money, riot in the streets, or kill each other because gas is now $2.59.

You lot control the system and you all know what you're doing.

Give us compassion or give us a decent job.

3. offshoring?
wrong term there - I think you mean to say "outsourcing."
Offshore drilling is what I thought you meant at first.
I'm so confused ...

4. If we outsourced offshore drilling, would it be outshored?

5. Came across an interesting book on that very subject....
It's a free download, if you've got the bandwidth:

http://www.jeffvail.net/atheoryofpower.pdf

Or, if you wish to spend you money, the paper version can be had under the title "A Theory of Power".

In essence, we're all enslaved to the meme of exponential growth - which means that production will optimize you and I. We'll get just enough to survive, but no more. (Sound like a BFEE experience?)

Anyway, it may be something deeper than just greedy people.

The good news: we can change.

And perhaps Peak Oil will force that change.
