Bush admin roadless plan a fraud, denies Oregons input
He repealed the original act because he claimed the states should have all the say(thus making local industry more influential). Oregon said ok and requested that all it's roadless areas be protected. The Bush admin rejected that plan. Enjoy that 36% approval rating, GWB. And enjoy that 68% "country headed in the wrong direction" number as well. You have earned it.

Truly a corrupt and classless administration.

Feds reject Oregon roadless proposal

GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- The Bush administration has rejected Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski's petition to amend its new roadless forests rule to give states greater certainty that logging can be kept out of undeveloped areas to protect clean water and wildlife habitat.

The petition filed last month asked the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to give states the option of adopting the 2001 roadless policy created under the Clinton administration, which barred commercial logging in large undeveloped blocks of national forests.""

2. renegging on their word is SOP for bushco. like the
$15000 sign-up bonus promised to some reservists if they re-upped while in iraq but denied them once the deal was a fait accompli and they were back in the states.
