Vice President Dick Cheney will slip into Cincinnati today for a quick and quiet Republican fundraising luncheon at the Queen City Club.

The vice president is expected to arrive at the downtown club for the Republican National Committee (RNC) and stay for about an hour before going on to another RNC event in Michigan later in the day.

Jenny Mayfield, a spokeswoman for the vice president, said no public announcement was made of the Midwestern fundraising trip.

Cheney has been in the spotlight recently because of the fact that his long-time confidante and chief of staff, I. Lewis “Scooter’’ Libby, was indicted last week on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. Libby resigned last week. Cheney has made no public appearances since the Libby indictments.
