With all these leaked e-mails and such, who thinks there is
a movement afoot to bring down the religious right and the neocons, and that it's coming from within the Republican party? Who else wonders how they will be able to get such a coup to work for them in the 06 election cycle, given the only record they have to run on is the * administration's agenda that they lied, cheated, and stole to implement?

1. What's needed is a split
Spilt the neocons from teh Religiously Insane and it's all over. The NEocons depend upon the votes of the REligiously Insane to move their agenda forward.

3. I agree. Dump that block and they're hosed.
The whackjobs won't change their posture because they're brain dead idiots. However, their reckless rhetoric will be marginalized.

I hope.......

6. I agree with a question

How many votes are they really talking about that are exclusively tied to the Religious Right?

I ask the question because I failed to see or hear of any long lines
in the so called Religious Right sections of the country in the last selection.

I see the Religious Right as extremely VOCAL with the wackos that flood the airways like Robertson. I see them with the power to tell us that they are so powerful but how much power do they really have?

I recall Terry Schievo (sp.)and all the screaming they did ---but how many really filled the streets to express those beliefs? And, in the end, their point of view was not shared by America.

I recall Roy Moore and his religious symbol fiasco, but my question still is HOW MANY supporters did we actually see? Why aren't they marching in the street to let us know how they feel?

I hear the wackos calling into CSPAN but my thought on that is that the lines are Republican/Democrat each taking a turn. So that does not prove to me that they are equal to the intensity of the Democrats.

What percentage of their base are we talking about OR are they their only base plus the KKK?

7. I have always felt that the ballyhooed turnout of RR in the last
election was smoke and mirrors -- there was no such turnout, and the Neocons only claimed it to explain the "unexpected" results at the polls. IOW, massive vote fraud. If they could claim that a huge, new electorate turned out they could get away with the polls contradicting the election results.

IMO, there are a million or two, but nothing like the 8 million they were claiming.

8. That is what I believe

and they also had to bash back the African American vote, especially in Ohio, to "win" that state.

A better name for the Christian Right is the Diebold Right and that would include all the wacko voters in a bunch.

They hide under the sheets of the real Base because they would prefer that we think that Christians are voting for them instead of the KKK.

2. Totally agree
After all, it was the Republicans who finally brought down Nixon. The Democrats can't find their ass with both hands, so the Repukes have to be behind this. They are in grave danger of losing Congressional seats.

5. I Mostly Agree,...
...but in nixon's time there was still an active and vigorous Democraic opposition. The rethuglicans would have never gone along if there wasn't already a strong Democratic resistance!
