ABC News report re: Ahnuld accuser tonight
did anyone else see this? Apparently, the Schwarzenegger campaign sent an e-mail to reporters, directing them to a law-enforcement site and urging them to type in the name of one of Arnold's sex-abuse accusers (her last name was Miller, first name was Norma or Rhonda or something)into the site's search feature. The site brought up something like 17 prior convictions for prostitution, extortion, etc., the problem being it wasn;t the same person, just the same name.

Could this make a difference at this point? And, why has this story not been widely reported?

1. No the election is over
But I do hope she does pursue her claims against Arnold.

2. I know the election is over
believe me, as a Californian, I am keenly aware. I was thinking more about public perception, and perhaps paving the way for a future re-recall. The public generally brushed aside the groping accusations, but is going forward and falsely smearing one of your victims too sleazy to ignore?

3. And if she does, that could make a difference...
It did in Mississippi...our former governor, a moralistic Repub, cheated on his ex wife, and had a wreck on the way home from Nashville, where he had been for his trist...had not let anyone know he was leaving the state.

In a nutshell, his hypocrisy and immorality (in the eyes of Mississippians) demolished his political career. He wouldn't be able to run for dogcatcher now and get elected.

6. Was that Fordice?
Aside from the tragic aspects of that story, it was pretty funny the way he tried to duck and weave and developed a case of selective amnesia.

5. Yes it matters
Remember dear Arnie said that he would address these reports after the recall. Then he said it was "old news". I don't think it's old news if he is trying to demonize the women who accused him. Oh yeah, let's keep it in the media. :bounce:

9. his campaign continued the abuse of this woman by that email.
Yes, it matters-and it is consistent with the behavior of an alleged serial, sexual, batterer.

10. Her name is Rhonda Miller. She's a stunt actor.
Here's the link to her story and she is filing charges. You have to register at the site one time. It's free and worth it because the LA Times still covers the news as journalists not media whores. So you get access from this time onward.

13. Gloria has a pretty good track record actually.
People don't like her because many think she is an opportunist, but she is a feminist lawyer and a pioneer in women's rights.

27. I found another article on the fornt page
This is my favorite paragraph:

"I'll begin this accounting with a bit of background: One of our goals is to do more investigative reporting. At the risk of offending still more readers, I'll say that if you're put off by investigative reporting, this probably won't be the right newspaper for you in the years to come."

I'm going to read the article you posted about but wanted to say thanks for the nudge to register.

14. get real
aside fromthe fact that Clinton's "rape" has been debunked countless times, even by the alleged victin, Arnie's behaviour dates back as recently as LAST YEAR

I guess that 20-year-old Whitewater land deal is equally as meaningless?

15. well, as an *ahem* fellow Democrat
(thanks for emphasizing this twice, BTW), I should tell you that the most recent accusation stems from three years ago, not thirty (which, for some reason, you also felt the need to assert twice; keep repeating it, and I guess it becomes true).

As for Broaddrick, I don't see anyone besides Newsmax who's still trying to push that tripe these days.

16. Oh please not that BS again.
Clinton didn't commit sexual battery on a string of women who had to work with him. Arnold not only abused his stature but his physical power too by forcing unwanted sexual groping of those women. No one has been able to prove Juanita Brodericks claims yet there have been eyewitnesses to Arnold's actions besides the word of his victims.

Arnold is a pig. Don't try to put lipstick on him by blaming Clinton.

18. at least he didn't just copy-n-paste
I'll give him a little credit for typing it on his own..

but not much

isn't it funny how Clinton was supposedly so terrible, and had to GO, but when A repube does anything similar, they JUSTIFY it by saying "clinton did it too"

we laugh

19. I don't think Arnold will get a free pass.
There will be lawsuits and he will have to go to court unless our system has become so corrupt that the courts let him get away with it.

22. OK, Right
Fine - go ahead and be the Democratic sex police in California. See how far it gets you. PEOPLE DON'T GIVE A DAMN that Arnold groped women, especially since they never complained about it when it occurred. And don't talk about Clinton's accuser's being discredited, so have many of Arnold's. There was a report of a Code Pink member "coaching" the groping women on what to say, now what do you think of that?

Even Republicans admit that Arnold is a liberal on a host of issues that are important to Democrats. Wouldn't you rather work with Arnold on advancing the issues of gay rights, abortion rights, and immigrant rights, which he supports, or are you going to pull some women out of the woodwork with false accusations and make the road clear for someone like McClintock?

Don't get so hung up with the "R" after Arnold's name. He supports a lot of positions that even Democrats in the U.S. Senate and House have a problem with.

For anyone who has ever been the victim of unwanted sexual attention, and many of us have been, THEY DO GIVE A DAMN. He is a sexual predator has committed criminal acts on women and he shouldn't be Governor. HE HAS BROKEN THE LAW!

33. hadn't heard about the Code Pink story
where'd you read that, by the way?

What's this repeptition of the "Democratic sex police," by the way? The reports describe incidents that are classified as assault, not sex. Or do you consider groping women unsolicited as sex?

Okay you're a Democrat. Confess how many women have you groped on the job? This would be the only reason you would defend Arnold, is because you are guilty of the same behavior.

30. Don't put me in the category with "we Democrats"
that you just used. The Broderick case came to light when Starr dumped raw FBI files in box and gave it to Congress. Dear Ms. Broderick may have had consensual sex with Mr. Clinton (I do not know) but you can bet your bottom little dollar the broad wasn't raped or Clinton would have been in jail - the hatred from the right is the intense and the woman never made a charge
