Sad How Many Unpatriotic & Un American People In This Country
Edited on Tue Nov-01-05 08:15 PM by Jon8503
I think the Republican Party & Evangelicals have shown us how many un american people we have in this country.

I cannot tell the difference between the Muslims or the Evangelicals.

The hate of both groups is unbelievable.

I see hope in the fact that Americans are beginning to see these people for who they really are and are getting scared of them.

These people are not christians but hateful, sad, unpatriotic sick individuals hiding in christian cloth.

I pray to God that these infidels will be defeated.

2. Not scared, but disgusted
Edited on Tue Nov-01-05 08:21 PM by ayeshahaqqiqa
that is what I'm hearing from my coworkers, who are proud to call themselves rednecks. For one thing, they see their lifestyles being threatened by the economic practices of Bushco, and are wondering just what their evangelical friends have really gained by having Bush as president.

BTW, I'm sorry you can't tell the difference between evangelicals and Muslims. I know there is a HUGE difference between a small group of Christians (who don't even include all evangelicals) who are intolerant of any who don't think the way they do and the entire brotherhood and sisterhood of Islam, which includes fundamentalists as intolerant as the evangelicals, but also includes very progressive sects, such as some of the universal Sufi orders. I would kindly suggest you insert the word "fundamentalist" in front of Muslims, because I would be sad to think you hate me or my progressive Muslim siblings who frequent this site.

4. It's not that you can't see the difference ...
Edited on Tue Nov-01-05 08:41 PM by NanceGreggs
.. between Mulims and Evangelicals. The point is that NO ONE can see the difference between one extremist group and another, regardless of their so-called 'faith', whether they are Muslims, Christians, etc.
There are too many people out there in the world who are using religion (or their version thereof) to further their own political, personal or financial agendas.

If there are any followers out there tonight of the likes of Falwell, Graham, ect., I have a few questions for you:

What kind of Christian supports a president who threatened to veto a bill if it INCLUDED A CLAUSE THAT MEANT THE GOVERNMENT CANNOT TORTURE PEOPLE?

What kind of person of true faith supports a president whose economic policies HAVE CAUSED EVEN MORE AMERICANS TO FALL BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL?

What kind of man-of-God supports an administration that destroys the social safety nets for the poor, the hungry, the homeless, while LINING THE POCKETS OF THE ALREADY WEALTHY?

The list is endless ... so I'll leave it at that.

Today we (finally) saw the Democrats moving to take back the country from the scum running it. When will people of TRUE FAITH (Christians, Jews, Muslims, Bhuddists -- everyone!) STAND UP AND TAKE BACK THEIR GOD?

6. It is something one does every day
via their actions. I have had the honor of knowing true Christians, and I consider them my brothers, for the core teachings of all faiths are the same-tolerance, helping those less fortunate, doing acts of charity, etc.

8. I also know TRUE Christians ...
Edited on Tue Nov-01-05 09:55 PM by NanceGreggs
... and they don't talk the talk, they walk the walk. I'm not talking about them -- or people who do good via their own, non-Christian religions.

What I have a problem with is the organizational so-called Christians (Falwell et al) who have hijacked Christianity and used it as a tool to gain personal wealth and political influence.

What I TRULY have a problem with is the fact that the followers of these people and their ilk WILL NOT STAND UP and say, "This MAN (or THIS ORGANIZATION) does not speak for me, for my religion, or for my God."

It is not enough to do your own good works in the name of your religion, your philosophy, your sense of spirituality. It is an obligation of the true Christian to POINT THE FINGER at the false prophets-for-profit, and disclaim any association with them.

7. to clarify
I quote from your original post:

I cannot tell the difference between the Muslims or the Evangelicals.

The hate of both groups is unbelievable.

The words you used seem to imply that Muslims are indistinguishable from Evangelicals and that both groups are hate groups. My post to you was to clarify that all Muslims are not haters, nor are all followers of Islam like Evangelicals. I assumed by that term you meant evangelical Christians, as I have not heard the adjective used to describe groups from other faiths. I am sorry if I misconstrued your words; I merely wished to inform those who read these threads my understandings about Islam and how many Muslims are very different from the attitudes of the intolerant sect of evangelicals.

9. Thank you ayeshahaqqiqa for that reply. Yes, I did not mean to
put all Muslims in the same camp as that is not the case at all. It is just the ones that are using violence against others. Again, thanks for bringing that to my attention.

What I was trying to say and should have been more clear is that so many are focusing their hate on the group of muslims or their faith that bring violence into our lives when we have this evangelical group right here in our country that seems to preach hate more than anyone.
