Where in the world is William Rivers Pitt?
Has he been heard from yet this weekend? I know there were a few threads about his absence on Friday night and didn't know if he'd appeared yet.

Holla Will! I'm curious what your thoughts are on the whole Libby affair.

6. No. The electors voting in Congress.
With ZERO,I mean ZERO regard for how the law works, or what's politically possible, the board went pretty nuts.

Pitt was among the brave souls attempting, over and over, to explain the predicament.

I sense he doesn't want to bother again.

15. Funny. That song plays in my head often.
In fact, with particular regard to some of the tantrum posts of late.

Nobody Told Me

John Lennon

Everybody's talking and no one says a word
Everybody's making love and no one really cares
There's Nazis in the bathroom just below the stairs

Always something happening and nothing going on
There's always something cooking and nothing in the pot
They're starving back in China so finish what you got

Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- strange days indeed

Everybody's runnin' and no one makes a move
Everyone's a winner and nothing left to lose
There's a little yellow idol to the north of Katmandu

Everybody's flying and no one leaves the ground
Everybody's crying and no one makes a sound
There's a place for us in the movies you just gotta lay around

Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- most peculiar, mama

Everybody's smoking and no one's getting high
Everybody's flying and never touch the sky
There's a UFO over New York and I ain't too surprised

Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- most peculiar, mama

38. Mr Lennon shoulda have Mr Morrison's mama's advice
Days Like This Lyrics

When it's not always raining there'll be days like this
When there's no one complaining there'll be days like this
When everything falls into place like the flick of a switch
Well my mama told me there'll be days like this

When you don't need to worry there'll be days like this
When no one's in a hurry there'll be days like this
When you don't get betrayed by that old Judas kiss
Oh my mama told me there'll be days like this

When you don't need an answer there'll be days like this
When you don't meet a chancer there'll be days like this
When all the parts of the puzzle start to look like they f it
Then I must remember there'll be days like this

When everyone is up front and they're not playing tricks
When you don't have no freeloaders out to get their kicks
When it's nobody's business the way that you wanna live
I just have to remember there'll be days like this

When no one steps on my dreams there'll be days like this
When people understand what I mean there'll be days like this
When you ring out the changes of how everything is
Well my mama told me there'll be days like this

Oh my mama told me
There'll be days like this
Oh my mama told me
There'll be days like this
Oh my mama told me
There'll be days like this
Oh my mama told me
There'll be days like this

I've been corresponding with Mr. Wilson over the last several days, just to keep tabs on things. I mentioned in my last email that a lot of people are pulling for him and Valerie, especially at DU. He wrote back:

"All the outpouring of support has been of great comfort to us these past two years of nonstop attacks. The stakes are enormous. This is all about whether our government can take us to war on lies without any fear of being held to account, and whether our democracy can survive the coalition of fascist forces that have seized control of the levers of power.

We are bracing for another round of attacks from the RNC. I understand that their talking points have been updated. Rapid response from you, The Democratic Underground and others will be needed and I know they and you are up to the task and I thank everybody in advance for all of your good work now and over the last years. Remember, to paraprhase Dick Cheney (no, not the "Fuck off" statement to Senator Leahy), they are in the "last throes" of desperation.

Take care and we will talk soon. Joe"

Let me guess what he'd have to say:

Libby is a start. We still don't know ANYTHING more than we did last week. Shut up already and let Fitz finish his work.

26. Honestly, I think he's hard at work on something. Although he
usually takes a break to come in here, he could be working on something all-consuming.... Like maybe the Wilson's civli suit.

Of course, that could just be wishful thinking on my part....

44. Wow - that is taking me back. I saw the Dead there many (Picasso) moons
ago. I've seen most of the bands on that line-up and can't imagine seeing them all at once at a festival. Awe-some.

Reminds me of a time when I saw Jerry Garcia Band, Bela Fleck, Neville Bros, Tower of Power, Rhythm Tribe and many others at Lake Tahoe. Squaw Valley to be specific. They set-up a stage in the bowl on top of the mountain. You had to take a gondola to get there. However, if you hiked the several miles up the backside, they graciously greeted you with orange and water and invited you into the show. As I recall they had about 200 serious climbers a day that successfully made the ascent.

That weekend and a week at Alpine Valley are my favorite Dead experiences.

Man....I'm jealous. I need one of those "let my hair down" type trips.
