If you're depressed, disappointed, or dreary: you're fucking CRAZY!
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 07:38 PM by goodboy
THIS WAS A HUGE VICTORY IN THE FIRST BATTLE IN THE WAR ON CORRUPTION!

These Fascist Theocratic Evildoers know they aren't safe anywhere.

The greatest way honor our fallen heroes, and the innocents sacrificed on the altar of GREED, LIES, CORRUPTION, and unspeakable EVIL by accepting nothing less than COMPLETE AND TOTAL VICTORY!

WE WILL STAY THE COURSE! IT WILL BE "HARD WORK" BUT WE WILL PREVAIL!

Nobody wants every single one of these goddamn criminals to be charged, tried, convicted and imprisoned forever more than me.

I admit I'm a little disappointed that more of these criminals weren't formally indicted today, but when I thought about it, I began to see that what happened today is FAR FUCKING WORSE than all of them being charged at once.

See, if all that happened was libby's indictment and the conclusion of the investigation, the Bushies would isolate Libby, claim to have cut out the problem and move on with their "hard work" of destroying our country, and the world at large.

But that didn't happen.

Sure Libby was charged... But a new Grand Jury has been empaneled. The investigation continues. A dark cloud of fear, suspicion, and uncertainty OVERSHADOWS the Bushies...

Their agenda - fucked
Their image - fucked
Their congressional majority? Soon to be fucked at the polls in 06

And all that is notwithstanding the fact that as the investigation moves foreword MANY MORE INDICTMENTS WILL FOLLOW!

REMEMBER: TARGET LETTERS! LETTER(S) PLURAL! MORE THAN ONE! went out.

If they got Libby...they got them all. They all lied...

I trust Fitzgerald COMPLETELY to furrow out these rats and crush their heads with his heavy boot of truth and justice.

Cheer up my friends! We get to see these bastards squirm, and delight in the terror they must feel knowing that Fitz is coming for them soon...and they have nowhere to hide!

3. We can't miss the fact
that the Vice President's Chief Lackey, his errand boy, his general dog-robber HAS BEEN INDICTED for being a lying scumbag...and, yes, that's what those charges amount to.

It ain't done. He's looking at up to 30 years in prison. Sure, the President could pardon him if convicted, but I double-dare him to do so. That would be, in fact, telling the American People that this administration, and, in extension, the Republicans, think they're above the law. It would be a misstep that could simply hand the country to the Dems in '06.

Edited on Sat Oct-29-05 03:04 AM by tavalon
He threw us a bone with Libby. I think he hopes we will stop scrutinizing every move he makes. It's hard to run a leak proof grand jury when his every movement is being breathlessly documented,..........by everybody!

He says the case is almost concluded. That could mean that he already intends to indict many others (in other words, he already knows who, what and why). Actually, these indictments also tell the Bush administration that he's playing hardball and it will probably encourage those who are less loyal to talk in return for immunity.

I'm not in the least discouraged by what I heard today. I do think it's time to focus our energies elsewhere for a while. This won't go fast.

57. What's your source for that into? Because that is NOT what Fitzgerald
said.

ut I'll tell you this: Very rarely do you bring a charge in a case that's going to be tried and would you ever end a grand jury investigation.

2. I can tell you, the substantial bulk of the work in this investigation is concluded.

3. This grand jury's term has expired by statute; it could not be extended. But it's in ordinary course to keep a grand jury open to consider other matters, and that's what we will be doing."

4. I will not end the investigation until I can look anyone in the eye and tell them that we have carried out our responsibility sufficiently to be sure that we've done what we could to make intelligent decisions about when to end the investigation. We hope to do that as soon as possible. I just hope that people will take a deep breath and just allow us to continue to do what we have to do.

QUESTION: Can you give us any sense of how you think you might and how long it might take you now to determine if there was this underlying crime that occurred dealing with alleged unauthorized disclosure?

Fitzgrerald: I can't and I wouldn't. And if I predicted two years ago when it started when it would be done, I would have been done a year ago.

FITZGERALD: So all I can tell you is as soon as we can get it done, we will.

AND NOW, THE BIG ONE!!!

Fitzgerald: And I'll probably just say -- I'll repeat it so I don't misstep and give you anything more than I should.

In these comments, he says repeatedly that this will continue. period. This is the guy who indicted Bin Laden, a member of the Gambina Crime family. The Al-Qaeda terroists who bombed the WTC in 1993 and the terrorists who blew up Lockerbie Scotland.

This is just the tip of the iceburg.

The probe is far from being at an end. According to this reporter's sources, Fitzgerald approached the judge in charge of the case and asked that a new grand jury be empaneled. The old grand jury, which has been sitting for two years, will expire on October 28.

Fitz clearly and unambiguously said in his statement and press conference today that the special prosecutor could use any grand jury which was empaneled. Maybe you missed that point because facts were flying fast and furious.

But that was made quite clear if you picked up on it.

21. It all depends on the terms of Libby's appeal
If he has to cooperate completely and take a lie detector test (which happens often) then Fitzgerald has the whole sick crew by the balls. If Libby just has to cooperate in the investigation, then we'll see the same thing, though perhaps on a lesser level. If the terms of his appeal are that he doesn't have to cooperate in the investigation but only plead guilty to the charges, then it gets really hard to nail em. It all depends on what kind of deal Fitz is willing to cut him.

50. How soon will Libby go on trial?
I believe that will be the real shit-storm. Thirty years vs. rolling over on Cheney? I'm betting he'll roll over.

51. Too many people here want instant gratification.
They were expecting Libby, Rove, and hell, Cheney of all people to get indicted today. They whipped themselves into a lather that this was the day our problems would be going away.

53. I'm not depressed! One PNAC'r down, atleast a dozen more to go!
It was a great day! I'm looking forward to the future....Fitz is going to make the Neo-con Bush/Cheney Cabal squirm and agonize and wonder who is next or what Fitz is going to be doing....Maybe they will all turn on eachother....

58. I couldn't agree more!!
People seem to be stressing over the comment he made:

"I can tell you, the substantial bulk of the work in this investigation is concluded."

This reads to me he KNOWS who did what, he has the story, now he needs to flip people. Libby is just one visible piece in the puzzle.

The indictment was very very interesting to read, so many other people were a part of this. What is the level of their cooperation?

This isn't over, and Fitzgerald made that clear at his press conference.

60. You are a Good Boy!
one of my faves from yesterday:

Podesta said,

"When Clinton said, 'I'm going back to do my work,' people cheered," Podesta said. "When Bush says, 'I'm going to do the job I've been doing,' people say, 'Oh, no.' "
