1. How does one "rein in" a special prosecutor? Does he mean
that it is time to make the SP toe the Republican Party line?

7. Anyone who can get on TV and say what he did with a straight face
... is not to be believed.

If you are appearing on TV today to say "this needs to be shut down now," then you are a Bush-Cheney lackey.

4. A caller just ripped Viet Dinh's nut sack off.
Edited on Thu Oct-27-05 07:00 AM by Neil Lisst
This guy was ON IT! He sounded like an African American in his 30-50s. He nailed this sleazy apologist. This guy should never be allowed to work anywhere near any level of government.

If you want to know why South Vietnam lost, it's because all their leadership were corrupt, talentless, bought weasels like Viet Dinh.

6. Smarmy subtle way to defame Fitzgerald--he's a good man
who's been appointed to a position that drives him to overreach is essential what Dinh is saying.

The first caller nailed him on that fallacy. The first caller also made an excellent point in stating that Cheney has been in high levels of government for decades and there was no way he didn't know the meaning of the information he was collecting and using. He certainly understood the concept of the word "confidential".

18. The rightwing claiming Fitz is a runaway prosecutor!!
These guys spent 7 years trying to find ANYTHING to go after Clinton, just a special prosecutor on retainer, and another ten years on his appointment, Cisneros.

For a bj and a guy who paid off his mistress.

Way to go, Moral Captains! You're still batting .000!!!

And he's sticking to the script.
There's the "grand jury will indict a ham sandwich" quote...
Hey Dinh, when you clowns elect ham sandwiches you force us to indict ham sandwiches.

12. And the criminalization of politics saw.
He also implied that that somehow the nation was unable to debate on disagreement on policy and was using the legal system as an imperfect way to debate. Nevermind that debate was stifled and information was shaped to present a stilted case for war. Please someone call in and finish the job that the first caller was doing so well.

"When you clowns elect ham sandwiches you force us to indict ham sandwiches."

Brilliant meme! Spread it around, especially when a Bushbot tries the ham sandwich gambit. Thanks!

13. C-SPAN's At It Again
The meme on Monday was "Plame really wasn't a NOC"
The meme on Tuesday was "The investigation is "out of control""
The meme on Wedneday was "perjury is a technicality"
Today's meme is "out of control Prosecutor"...

They're really stovepiping the wing wing quotes and soundbites out there...the misinformation campaign continues.

Now I don't remember C-SPAN doing shows like these during the Clinton inquisition.

:wtf:

Did I just hear that right? Fitzgerald has abused his power? A GAO investigation?

This guy can't seperate the Independent Counsel law that is passe and the Special Consel mandate that Fitzgerald has...two different animals.

What a disengenuous liar!

22. Starr was told to find something, anything, on Clinton.
Fitzgerald was told to investigate a possible crime wherever that takes him. Very different mandate.

23. The Difference Between An IP & Special Counsel
The Independent Prosecutor was appointed by Congress...that's who empowered Starr and allowed him to expand his investigation at a whim. This investigation still falls under the control of the Justic Department of the Executive branch...Fitzgerald, while operating under a special mandate, is still responsible to Gonzalez and the DOJ. There's a big difference!

If rumors can be believed, I suspect, Mr. Fitzgerald is holding a new bill this morning for a second grand jury that would be the way he could widen the investigation...and only then with the approval of the judges.

32. Not only did he "serve" the Bush administration
Mr. Viet Dinh made the rounds of all the talking head shows and scream TeeVee shoutfests during the Clinton impeachment. He "earned" his position in the Bush Cabal by appearing on every show that would have him to tell us that Starr was investigating serious crimes. It's a shame that an intelligent attorney prostitutes himself much the same way mAnn Coulter does.

Nothing he says should be taken vbery seriously.. Whenever these people start spouting off, someone needs to dig up their pontifications during the Clinton witch hunt.. It would amaze and confuse ..to see how they could be so eager to dismantle a system that they were so eager to support, when they were on offense instead of defense:)
