Those Wacky, Wacky Conservative Women!
Tired of your unrequited relationship with the oh-so-out-of-reach Ann Coulter?

Ladies and gentlepersons, I give you Kathleen Parker.

(No, it isn't a picture of Reese Witherspoon.
ALL Conservative women are that attractive.)

Wanna know why California elected Arnold Schwartzenegger? It was because he was a manly man, and the Californians were rejecting latte-lapping, lily-livered, lib-lesbian loving Libbrulism.

But why not let li'l ol' Kathleen tell you herself:
Say what you will about a populist uprising. The California recall was at least partly a backlash to everything soft and fuzzy in the culture. If only unconsciously, The People were motivated more by testosterone and car talk than by budget stats and politics.

Contrary to conventional punditry, they didn't elect Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has no credible qualifications to solve the state's problems, to send a message to career politicians. They didn't elect a Republican to send a message to Democrats

The People, whom we variously worship or hold in contempt depending on our polling needs, elected the Terminator - the biggest, meanest, toughest, take-no-prisoners son-of-a-cyborg hombre who ever strode the Earth, an Extreme Man who protects women (we're talking movies now) and children, and who, when sufficiently piqued, makes weapons out of household objects and reduces enemies to ash.

And that, as the Bond lady says, is "a real mahn" - the father-king come back (he said he'd be back, didn't he?) to rescue the culture from the tyranny of weak sisters, not to mention the rise of machines.
Ainsley Hayes she ain't.

Wanna read the whole thing (And who doesn't)? Surf to http://www.townhall.com/columnists/kathleenparker/kp20031011.shtml you limp-wristed pansies. And chaw a pinch of Red Man for me, will ya?

I'm sorry, I can't read the whole thing. That was plenty.

I wonder if she thinks she'll gets some dates with bodybuilders after writing this article? That smirk doesn't help with her attractiveness.

"father-king?" Okay, now I need to go wretch.

I don't need a "daddy" in office--I need someone who will govern progressively.

your brain? Desperate much for a daddy figure, Ms. Parker?

:P

It's hard to argue that this country doesn't have a bit of a manhood fixation. However, I disagree with her definition of "manly". Stupidity is not manly, sexual battery is not manly, and "reducing enemies to ash" with household objects is... well, it's just stupid.

They can try to spin Schwarzenggar's win any way they like, but the fact is that he only *won* because he ran against an incumbent in the Bush economy.

That's what Dubya will be doing next year. Next Novemeber, I'd love to hear whether or not she think's Bush lost the 2004 Presidential race because he just wasn't manly enough.

14. Well, she's right.

9/11 created an emotional response in the minds of all Americans (who didn't already hate GWB) - a desparate need for virile Arab butt-kicking leaders. Carl Rove immeditely wheeled GWB in front of the cameras and has been refining that image continuously since then to fill that need. That has been his simple perfect strategy. Ah-nold's election only shows why it is so effective (55% approval as of yesterday).

The more the dem pols (and we) whine about honesty and fairness and giving control to the UN - the more like wusses we seem to everyone who fears the next terror attack - which includes virtually all the uncommitted voters in the middle who will determine the outcome of the next election.

We think that America will be forced to realize that we are right after enough evidence piles up against Bush's* lies. Don't count on it. They (at least the morans in the middle) don't care about evidence, or deficits or church/state separation or any of that stuff that's so important to us (me). They just want to see more dead Arabs on the TV screen every nite than our guys. As long as Bush* keeps killing bad guys - he wins.

Clark is the only dem candidate that has much of a chance with these morans - but even he, as a decorated war hero / experienced general will have to go up against a guy who is killing bad guys every day - with words about what he would do better or different. Words are weak weapons against "Swarthy Arab Body Bags at 11:00".

I'm starting to think we have a better chance appealing to conservatives who I know are very uneasy with many of Bush's* domestic policies.

What about last week's "pssst pass it on imminent threat" BS. She actually buys and attempts to sell the Bush* party line on this one.

They had a vial of botulinum - they had laboratories - Saddam was evil - who knows what could have happened??????? In the midst of it she pulls a Bush* sentence out of thin air and posits "He never said they actually had weapons". How much of the hysterical stuff did she have to throw out to get down to that nugget?

Not a deep thinker.

19. Sounds like the same garbage that came out post 9/11
How Bush* was a colossus and Rummy made all the women's knees weak.

And then there's this revealing tidbit:

As a family, we've watched every Schwarzenegger action movie more times than is probably psychologically healthy; we know his lines by heart; we love Schwarzenegger the predator, the commando, the destroyer, the barbarian, the eraser, the terminator. The actor.

So is it now psychologically healthy family fare to watch a movie where the caged barbarian gets to rape women as a perk for viciously killing men for sport? How about shooting women in the face and saying "consider this a divorce"?

Classic psychological profile of a woman who wants to sell her soul for a few dollars and some protection...similar to a slave who says "I cant leave my master, he protects me " even as he is beaten..Stockholm syndrome, a woman who wont take responsibility for herself and wants some man to do all the work for her and feign some swooning idiocy ...classic psych textbook stuff.
Grow up honey. Be an adult.

22. Don't let your disdain for the RW . . .
. . make you think that everyone sees it the same way you (we) do.

I mostly agree with your opinion but that isn't going to get Bush* out of the whitehouse.

I think she's is saying what many Americans believe (feel is a better word) is true. Our inability to understand that could be a big disadvantage for us going into 2004. I think it already has been a disdvantage for us and is why Bush* has 55% approval rating in face of the monumental mess he's made of everything in this country - domestically and in the "War on Terra'".

28. That's a good analogy.
But it seems to me there are more effective ways of helping them end their co-dependency - than calling them prostitutes and idiots.

At least I hope there are. Ways that would allow them to see the version of reality that's so clear to us - and they would then come to our side instead of hating us for being "weak enablers of Saddam" which is the version that they see now.

34. a hooker is a hooker
any woman who relies on a man to do her thinking for her, pay for her, and control her is a hooker...
Either a woman takes responsibility for her own life, or she gives up her self esteem and self respect and lays down like a doormat, which is pure unmitigated laziness on any woman's part.
A lot of GOP women are just hookers, plain and simple..they want to live by archaic rules and laws set up by men who want to control them, and pay them to behave like hookers.
Fine...but a hooker is a hooker..and women like these are just hookers .

. . that reflect our values. Like Robert Redford's "The Candidate"?

My purpuse is not to contradict you but to show that we need to understand the very effective PR job that Carl Rove has orchestrated - since 9/11.

He has made GWB into their virile protector - which I (we) find totally amazing. But it's true - and we need to connect with them at the same gut level somehow before they will question their loyalty to the guy who's getting them payback for the WTC.

(Gannett, naturally) has carried her for quite a while and I have read lots of her scribblings and she really does believe this "manly" stuff. Most of her editorials are about how sadly misguided feminists have ruined the sacred manliness of American men and boys. She's really that twisted.
