Email him and thank him.

My Word is going to go on "Christmas Patrol" and I would like you to write me at a special e-mail address: [email protected].

If you think there's an instance where Christmas is being suppressed in your town, school or workplace, send me a note and I'll look into it.

The Supreme Court (search) of the United States has never said no Santa, no Christmas carols, no red and green, no merry Christmas. It's not illegal, though amateur constitutional lawyers in positions of local power often think separation of church and state requires them to ban or banish Christmas.

They are wrong.

1. What a devout man he is!
We all know the brith of Christ means plastic lawn ornaments and red and green Santa themes. Good job Blondie!

:sarcasm:

2. "The fights usually begin around Thanksgiving"
"The fights usually begin around Thanksgiving, but it's time to start thinking about them now."

Yeah right, the plugging of Christmas has already begun so you just want to market your book as much as possible as soon as possible.

6. We love spotting the first Christmas advertisements
This year Carnival cruises beat out Norelco! What I can't figure out is the people down the street with their Christmas lights turned on already inside their enclosed porch. I can see putting the lights up while the weather's good, but turning them on before Halloween?

Seriously, no one is holding a gun to your head to make you do anything to celebrate, not even to eat a slice of fruitcake. How you choose to celebrate or not to celebrate is your own affair. So don't blame the stores and don't blame the networks. By the same token, don't expect the stores or City Hall to put up a Nativity display. If you want one, you do it. I say that as someone who goes to Midnight Mass as wel as Mass every Sunday. Christmas is what you make it.It's not some governmnet sponsored display of public piety.

4. What an assclown.
My God, I remember this guy on MSNBC. He at least pretended to some kind of balance then. He didn't do a good job, but he pretended. But then he saw he could make some dough off the brain-dead Fox audience through blatant partisanship. What a total fraud. I have no doubt he'll go liberal the moment our ideology is in vogue again.

8. Let me ask: Do you know ONE liberal who hates Christmas?
Besides me?

Disclaimer: I refer to the right-wing commercialization aspect.

I celebrate it every year.

This meme is dragged out every year: Liberals want to DESTROY CHRISTMAS!

Bullshit.

9. These guys (and gals) are idiots
and by "these guys" I mean the people that pump up this issue where unwarranted. Why is it so hard to accept that non-christians don't want nativity scenes in the public square? Why can't they confine celebration of Xmas in their homes and communities of families and friends?

Jews do this with Hannukah, Muslims do so with Rammadan, why do fundie christians feel compelled to impose their religion on everyone? I am Christian, and enjoy the celebration of Jesus' birth, but I recognize many people don't. It's not a war on Christmas, but simply cultural sensitivity and common courtesy.

10. Gibson is a frickin ghoul
He really wants to be on a par with the big boys at FAUX but he's SUCH a lightweight. Dumber than Hannity, less emotional and mentally unbalanced than O'lielly, he really has nothing going for him. I guess this is the crusade to propel him to the upper echelons of FAUX idiocy. This could blow up on him big time and I can think of lots of ways to fuck with him, but I'm not sure he's worth the time.
