Something big coming up ......
Matt Cooper is on Hardball. He just said that just as the backdrop of Watergate was the White House versus the FBI, the backdrop of this scandal is the White House versus the CIA.

Matthews is focused on the Rove versus Libby aspect. He is again making the comparison to Watergate. Matthews knows something big is coming up. I think that it has begun to take form outside the grand jury.

It's always been WH/Pentagon/OSP vs. CIA in this case.

But it sure is nice to hear the corporate media reporting it!

needs to hit at full force. I want full exposure of everything that these criminals have done for the past 5+ years (and if we REALLY knew the truth, it's probably been much longer than that even!).

11. Your wife is right about Tweety - he is helping Andy Card with the
WH spin as in Bush/Rove against Cheney/Libby. As soon as Scooter (and Cheney as un-indicted co-conspirator) is indicted Tweety (as well as H. Fineman and Andrea Greenspan NBC, NBC, NBC. GE, GE, GE, Jack Welch, Jack Welch, Jack Welch retired) will say that Cheney lied to Bush and now that the rotten apples have been removed Bush can get on with being a great Pres.

When Rove is indicted same thing - Bush was lied to by the people he trusted and they did him wrong and now Bush has cleaned house, taken charge, will get on with his own agenda and show us what a great leader he is and would have already been had he not been surrounded by traitors with their own agenda.

Tweety - shilling now harder than ever.

33. Matthews seems naive.....
...more so than calculating. He seems to really believe that Bush might me the only one who is clean. That all of this could have happened without Bush knowing anything. He also thinks that like Reagan, Bush can just clean house, hire a new staff, work hard (yeah, right!) and he'll be on top again. He seems to not realize that Bush has never been as popular as Reagan. We did not have cable news and internet during the Reagan era.

He also seems genuinely excited about the possiblility of having this huge news story. I think he'll be disappointed if there are not indictments.

The "KEEN" journo who allowed GOP operatives to call Wilson a liar and label him a partisan campaign hack working for Kerry with no rebuttal from Chris, and all the while he and the rest of Russert's news staff all KNEW FOR OVER TWO YEARS that Rove outed Plame and that the WH was lying about it all along.

7. You know, there are some astonishingly smart and nefarious...
...folks over at the CIA. Somehow, it kinda makes me wonder if this whole thing, way back to the Italian/Niger/yelowcake letter was a set-up by the CIA, and Cheney was so stupid and greedy he just walked right into the trap.

Maybe they thought they'd just plant the letter as an obvious fake (as in the Dan Rather Bush National Guard letter),and the whole deal just took off from there.

I can only hope that not only are these crooks being apprehended, but that it was a set up from pissing off the people who really have their necks on the line for this country, and even better, it was because the crooks were so very, very stupid and greedy.

Wouldn't that be wonderful!?!!!

24. regarding forgeries
if my memory is correct - it was reported that it only took 1/2 hour or less of looking at the documents to conclude they were forgeries

The outing of Plame brings up a much bigger issue - DID BUSH LIE ABOUT IRAQ/WMDS? Was intell manipulated, fixed, massaged, twisted and spun to justify invading Iraq?

Most of us agree that the intell was manipulated -- but the media so far has steered clear of this.

people are getting excited, and wanting to see Karl frog-marched and Cheney humiliated. I can appreciate that. (grin) However, I will again hint that people should relax, and enjoy the process. It is moving at exactly the right pace.

Remember the discussions about putting pressure on the right people at the right time? I can say that there are individuals who reside in Washington DC, and who have believe they were untouchable, who are now feeling an anxiety and depression -- oh, heck, let's say despair -- who now have 72 hours to have their attorney get in touch with Mr. Fitzgerald and say, "Hey, can we talk?"

if it means serious charges are brought. I'd like to see the charges extend beyond perjury and conspiracy to cover up, because I believe there is definitely merit for more serious charges. Read this morning the pugs are putting together a pr & spin campaign, much like Delay has, to say, in essence, move along nothing to see here. Indictments for espionage would put paid to that. Also, that 72 hours you mentioned seems like another of your famous hints.

Finally, why is it that we hear very little about Bolton in all this conjecture? Is he the next reveal?

21. Watergate was the OLD Corruption Standard
It's kinda like knowing your favorite player is about to break the home run record, but up until he hits that big homer, it's the past record that is always mentioned.

This scandal looks to be so much bigger than Watergate since it is so systemic. Nixon's problems were strictly within his own office and the RNC...where this scandal covers both the president and vice president offices (Agnew never got close to Watergate) as well as the Sec. of State, Defense and both CIA and FBI.

When the histories of this scandal are written, the Iraq war implosion...started by the Plame outting...will supercede any American political scandal and be the "gold standard" of government corruption. Maybe, just maybe, there is a silver lining in this dark cloud.

See, here's the thing, the people who WORK for our government, as paid, workforce, standard issue employees are real people. They're your neighbors, your family, your friends. They're all just humans who DO know right from wrong, and who aren't sucked into the greed and power factor of the bush regime.

I believe in them doing what's right and not supporting the regime.

I thought that to be a pretty chilling detail. 71. Poor Scooter-Pie!!!!
Right now, Scooter is worried. He is not sure if Karl's lawyer is the one fucking with him in the media, giving off-the-record hints about Scooter and Dick, or if it is someone else .... like a couple of those people Scooter and Dick yelled at to change their analysis of Iraqi WMD capacity. Because, if it is that spineless fuck Karl, then Scooter needs to drop dime faster and harder. But if it is one of those other people, and he drops dime on Rove, then he's fucked himself, too.

Decisions, decisions.

73. I would love to be a fly on the wall in Fitzgerald's office.
I wish they would announce when they will hand down the indictments so I can be front and center of the television. This will be must-see television for sure.

Cool picture, H20Man. What is that thing? A rock or an old tree trunk?

74. A rock.
In the days when I had a back, it took me a day to set it up.
