Michael Brown has to have time to eat dinner. Katrina has to wait
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 06:53 PM by texpatriot2004
NBC Nightly news just reported an email from Brown's secretary to his "eyes and ears on the ground" Bahmonde (? Spelling). Did you guys see this? This infuriates me. "Mr. Brown has to have time to eat. The restaurants in Baton Rouge are busy. He has to have more than 20 or 30 minutes."

Per E-mail correspondence between Brown's secretary and the FEMA guy on the ground.

OUTRAGEOUS!

6. followed by whore report photo op bush with bono
how bono loves bush for promising $50 million dollars to help AIDS in Africa. Let me know when the money arrives. Hit me in the head for watching TV...only did it because we are in the path of the hurricane. With all going on, he had to show a friggin' photo-op? Now I remember why I only watch Jon Stewart and Animal Planet.

That Bono while getting good PR probably knows that W is all hat and no cattle when living up to his pledges.

2. I saw it. Infuriating that Brownie was more concerned about restaurants
than the emergency he was supposed to be responding to.

8. What - No reservations?
Oh well, "Planning" was not his strongest asset.

<snip>
Bahamonde expressed his frustration about the "dinner e-mail," responding:
"OH MY GOD!!!!! Just tell her that I just ate an MRE and in the hallway of the Superdome along with 30,000 other close friends, so I understand her concern about busy restaurants."

11. Bahamonde - FEMA knew for 16 hours that the levee had failed!
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 06:19 PM by Mabus
from: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9756145

"Wednesday, August 31: Much of New Orleans is underwater when a FEMA official inside the Superdome sends an urgent BlackBerry message to his boss, director Michael Brown:

"...the situation is past critical... hotels are kicking people out, thousands gathering in the streets with no food or water... estimates are many will die within hours," writes Marty Bahamonde, who was sent to be Brown's eyes and ears within the city.

Bahamonde tells Senate investigators he doesn't remember getting a response to that e-mail, but later was forwarded this one, which shows Brown's press secretary fretting about Brown's dining plans for that evening.

****
Bahamonde also says officials at all levels of government failed to act on his early warnings that a key 17th Street levee had failed. He says local and FEMA officials had 16 hours to warn the public -- and no one sounded the alarm."

12. Mr. Brown could have done like a lot of guys working at the office
order in and eat at your desk.

Or, if you're lucky and on the assembly line, be able to eat at all . . .
