Do you think that Judy Miller was bought the same way that Armstrong
Williams was? Do you think they had an actual contract with her to help sell the war?

3. Contract? No.
They gave her access to the WH. That is what she coveted. She would sell her soul for it, and did. Now, she needs to go to hell!

4. I'm telling you again
check her bank accounts....

check to see what "gifts" she's received from the administration or even from the Republican party....

Judith Miller is a major whore in the journalistic sense but I've got to believe that there was something more than a by-line in this for Judith.

5. I think she started there. She was planted
in the NYT. Check it out. She has no journalism education. She was an operative from the beginning.

7. Operation Mockingbird and the military's use of PsyOps in the newsroom
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 05:57 PM by EVDebs
certainly begs that question, huh ? I thought the same thing.

CNN and PsyOps by Alexander Cockburn of counterpunch
www.counterpunch.org/cnnpsyops.html

and the CIA's Op Mockingbird
http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/JFKmockingbird.htm

"In 1948 Frank Wisner was appointed director of the Office of Special Projects. Soon afterwards it was renamed the Office of Policy Coordination (OPC). This became the espionage and counter-intelligence branch of the Central Intelligence Agency. Wisner was told to create an organization that concentrated on "propaganda, economic warfare; preventive direct action, including sabotage, anti-sabotage, demolition and evacuation measures; subversion against hostile states, including assistance to underground resistance groups, and support of indigenous anti-Communist elements in threatened countries of the free world."

Later that year Wisner established Mockingbird, a program to influence the domestic American media. Wisner recruited Philip Graham (Washington Post) to run the project within the industry. Graham himself recruited others who had worked for military intelligence during the war. This included James Truitt, Russell Wiggins, Phil Geyelin, John Hayes and Alan Barth. Others like Stewart Alsop, Joseph Alsop and James Reston, were recruited from within the Georgetown Set. According to Deborah Davis (Katharine the Great): "By the early 1950s, Wisner 'owned' respected members of the New York Times, Newsweek, CBS and other communications vehicles....

The Office of Policy Coordination (OPC) was funded by siphoning of funds intended for the Marshall Plan. Some of this money was used to bribe journalists and publishers. Frank Wisner was constantly looked for ways to help convince the public of the dangers of communism. In 1954 Wisner arranged for the funding the Hollywood production of Animal Farm, the animated allegory based on the book written by George Orwell.""

The illegal funding, off the books from Congressional oversight and therefore unconstitutional, is one avenue of investigation regarding Judy's activities.

Furthermore, the CIA isn't legally chartered for doing domestic operations, so this would be an illegal operation affecting domestic media...no wonder Judy Miller wouldn't snitch out her handlers ! "If I tell you, I'd have to kill you" isn't just casual jocularity these days, huh ?

8. Bought, but maybe not in quite the same way.
The NY Daily News said she was a "charter member" of the WHIG. I think she was a useful idiot for Bushco--someone whose ideological leanings were in line with theirs. They made her feel like part of the team, and she wrote what they wanted her to write. It's really an unpardonable sin--the worst sort of crime a reporter could commit. She let her ideology and her loyalty to Scooter Libby override whatever obligation she felt to report the truth to her readers. She should be reviled by journalists everywhere--but instead they're giving her awards and standing ovations. Clearly, the mainstream media powers-that-be in this country still don't get it.

9. Ms. Miller or whatever her real name is...
was recruited by the Office of Special Plans to spread the manure of WMDs. She got in bed with Ahmed Chalabi and spread his and his operatives lies. The NYT is complicit and supported her in spreading the Neo Fascist Agenda.
