17. the mandate of the republican controlled congress

is working out fine. They're still getting their fucking way in case no one has noticed. They got the votes to keep passing their fuck-middleclass-workingclass-Americans-in the ass bills every damn day.

I'm sick at heart because this week they plan to vote on the "offsets" to pay for katrina. The one that is breaking my heart? Cuts in federal college loans. I got three kids on their way who have maintained 3.3 - 3.8 gpa so they could qualify. I guess that's not taking enough personal responsibility. They should also work full time jobs in high school as well as college just to have half a shot for their future.
