however, my birthday is in about 3 weeks. I will be 50. There... I said it. Plus, I had an eye exam yesterday (no cost... thanks Canadian Health Care system!) and I need.... bifocals. Shit. Good thing I can get those no line thingys. Still going to cost me $400 (over the insurance kick in). But that's better than $1500 (I have a very very very strong prescription). Worked very well for my BIL. However, I'm like you. Even with the surgery, it would only improve my eyesight to the point where I wouldn't need coke bottle glasses to see. So to a certain extent, it might be cheaper in the long run (i.e. glasses would be much cheaper). I don't know. I might have a shot because of someone I know has an in with a "Christian" laser surgery place that does this type of operation for those that can't afford it. I might have to go to some "meetings" but I can deal. I just don't want to rip anyone off. Guess that's my athiest morals kicking in <hee>
