American yanked from Vancouver hospital and deported, says lawyer

SEATTLE -- A U.S. army veteran who fled to Canada to avoid prosecution because he grew marijuana to help control chronic pain was yanked from a hospital by Canadian authorities and, with a catheter still attached, turned over to U.S. officials who provided him with no medical treatment for five days, his lawyer said.

Steven Tuck, 38, was still fitted with the urinary catheter when he shuffled into U.S. District Court for a detention hearing yesterday, said his lawyer, Douglas Hiatt.

Judge James Donohue ordered Tuck temporarily released so he could be taken to a medical centre for treatment.

"The guy comes into the jail with a catheter sticking out the end of his (penis), you'd think they'd do something about it!" Hiatt said, launching into a profanity-laced tirade after the hearing.

"This is totally inhumane. He's been tortured for days for no reason."

Of course, the powers that be don't want the goverment to actually be funded -- they want it privatized. Legalizing and taxing grass would undo all the tax cuts they've passed in the last 5 years.

5. There is more money to be made

in the Drug War than there would ever be from taxing pot. It's a weed, and you can grow it ANYWHERE! There is no way they could tax all the pot that is smoked (just like they can't stop all the pot that is smoked from being smoked).

The tax revenue is immaterial, it's jobs/CIA fronts for the drug war and protection from competition for the pharmaceutical companies that they're concerned with! As it is now, the pharmaceutical companies have patents on synthetic THC (Marinol anyone?). How would they make any money if we let the public replace their expensive meds with an easily growable plant?

8. It would be economic chaos. In one fell swoop the pharmaceutical,

oil, and synthetic fibers industries would be crippled. Private prisons would go bankrupt, law enforcement would start laying off thousands, not to mention the billions of illicit money that are used by our government to finance black ops. The ramifications are immense
