Saddam's trial ... He's screaming at the judge!
On MSNBC, they are covering it some, and they had some tape with the judge looking on as Saddam was screaming off camera.

2. Apparently, he wanted to give a speech and refused to give his name to the
judge. The whole thing is on a twenty minute delay. There will be a break shortly, because they are having "audio difficulties." More likely they did not want the freedom loving Iraqi peoples to hear Saddam's little speech...

7. They don't want us to hear what he has to say either
That is why I think they have this on delay. God forbid he starts telling secrets, they want to be able to pull the feed immediately.

19. YOu got that right
Imagine occupiers who have killed way more people putting a man on trial for killing people with weapons they gave him. I won't even watch this farce.

12. What secrets?
If the sheeple paid attention, they'd know that Saddam was financed by the Bushies and the CIA.

He doesn't have to tell secrets - he needs only to tell what's already out there and remind the sheeple how, exactly, he maintained power on our dime.

"SPIDER'S WEB", by Alan Friedman. I think I'll finalize the order, and get prepared for this Moscow Show Trial.

13. HEY...That's Saddam Insane...
He's just CRAZY about being a despicable Dictator. I'll bet he likes the chains anyway, the damned old pervert! I know for a fact that Saddam was a Republican because he was the Commander In Chief of the "elite Republican Guards."

I'll bet Saddam's lawyer advises him to plead insanity . I'd believe it, just like I believe Bush is insane. Who else but crazy people would lie to start a war?

21. I always shudder when I hear the Neocons talk about "bad guys,"
and I want to tell them that they are the bad guys, but I can't quite reach such a stage of arrested development to speak about "bad guys" and "good guys."

17. Just a distraction.
It seems like Saddam gets put in court for a day whenever a distraction's needed (usually after they've had a run of capturing al-Qaeda's no.3, diverting flights and terror alerts).

18. I read a morning editorial piece ...
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 07:12 AM by Neil Lisst
... and it spoke of the horror a group of Iraqi had upon coming to US and hearing Bush and other laud Miers because she's a good Christian woman. It might have been Friedman. I'll check.

This trial is a shammockery. 20 minute delay? Time to sanitize and keep the Bushes out of it.

edit - yeah it was Tom Friedman, NYT

20. Saddam begging for the Bobby Seale remedy . . .
Reference to Judge Julius Hoffman in the Chicago-7 trial where he had defendant Bobby Seale gagged IN THE COURTROOM while the trial elapsed because Seale kept shouting his outrage at the kangaroo court set-up.
