| John Dean just said he would "be surprised if Cheney were not involved" |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 12:35 AM by Gloria
He's on with Mike Webb, KIRO Seattle.
Now discussing the "Conspiracy Statute"--it's so broad, "it doesn't take much....." It's got what most people in Watergate.....those aware, not even directly involved.
It's even a crime if you don't do your job--"defrauding the govt"
John Ashcroft used the "leaker" provisions, so it may come back to haunt them.
Judge Hogan was Dean's classmate and is a friend....his opinion that was bolstered by 3 judges, 2 very conservative, that sent Miller to jail...that's a clue that something very big is brewing...

it only takes 2 (or more) people working together to achieve the same goal to prove conspiracy!!
And usually with a conspiracy, there is also a cover up, which can have bigger implications than the original crime.........

| 4. If Cheney stepped down, ....Cheney isn't going to lightly resign... |
|
Can be indicted, although it's never been tested other than Aaron Burr.
Would be a golden opportunity in terms of a VP pick, but it's both the House and Senate that has a confirmation role. No problem in the House, but could be a filibuster in the Senate.
If he didn't resign, he could preside over his own trial!!
