Are Ann Coulter and others using Miers as an excuse to abandon Bush
Edited on Tue Oct-18-05 11:37 PM by Quixote1818
before the indictments rock the world? I caught a part of the Drudge Report (Radio Show) two nights ago and Coulter was basically telling Drudge she was abandoning Bush and the Miers nomination was the straw that broke the Camels back. She went off on Bush hard!

It struck me as very odd and then I came to the conclusion that she was doing this so she could say she had left the Administration before the shit hit the fan.

Am I seeing things right or are they really that upset about Miers? I find that hard to believe.

1. A little of both I think
they are finding out that they were sold a bad bag of goods, bush ain't a social conservative, and has nominated TWO corporate lawyers to the court.

But yes the rats are also bailing before things come to a head

4. Looks and sounds Ann is using this Miers thing to dump Bush as
stated above...I agree that is a strong possibility..

Bush has gone over the edge for their tastes...and of course, we always knew he was lost in a daze.

5. Rich or someone had a column saying that's what it was about
the cons are fed up with the war, Katrina, the debt and expanding government and Miers is a convenient excuse to go after him. And no, Miers should not/would not have pissed them off were it not for the rest of it.

6. Yes, that's the real issue. He threatens all they have worked for
and they won't risk losing their agenda over the likes of him.

8. Considering his poll numbers are in the toilet...
I'd say you're right. For the most part, I don't think their bailing because bush 'turned' on them. I think they know a sinking ship when they see one.

They also probably know the man and the party that's been their bread and butter is no longer. They're doing it to save their own asses.

9. A conjecture: the Miers nom is a ruse ...
a clever plan intended to deceive and trick ... another Trojan Horse, like Roberts ...

... if the far-righties are against her ...

(perception; they're not veering from the agenda; they've wanted this moment for too long ... willing to cheat and lie to get here )

... then, Harriet must be a good replacement for Sandra Day ... why even the Senate Dem leader suggested her, and announced: I like Harriet (instead lambasting Smirk for not heeding his advice to put the nomination off - Reid did suggest that delay, didn't he?).

If confirmed, she'll deliver a trifecta:

help protect Smirk
pro-corporate America/anti-employee-workers-new deal-common folks
she'll vote to overturn Roe v. Wade

She may even be a Dominionist (Christian Reconstructionist)

Dominionist Diebold/ES&S seed-$funder Howard Ahmanson, Jr. delivered for the Council on National Policy aka CNP ~ where corporate rich america, the religious right and the Oliver Northnuts meet.

Mission Accomplished

I just hope when the truth is revealed that these illegitimately appointed life-time fed judges will do the honorable thing and resign.

These are President Al Gore's appointments they're taking.
