Do go see "Good Night, and Good Luck."
My capsule review:

The black and white is luscious, the acting pitch perfect, but the main reason to see it, without a doubt, is the immediate pertinence of the message. This film is about the cowardice of *today's* corporate media in the face of an administration that doesn't give a shit about the Constitution. Ignore criticisms of the film's "biographical" "innaccuracies." Murrow is the model for Clooney as Henry V was the model for Shakespeare's Henry V. (Not to say Clooney is Shakespeare, please understand.) This is a movie about our time.

1. Isn't that Keith's line?
Or did he borrow it from a previous era?

7. Same thing last Saturday for the 8pm show in Chelsea
Maybe not quite sold out--all but a few seats in the front rows--and there was applause at the end.

11. Considering I remember watching the "original" Murrow,
it should be interesting to compare.

21. I'll say!
I've only seen the original on kinescope. Speaking of which, my favorite trope in the movie is the way the movie characters react to actual kinescope. It's really McCarthy you're seeing. It's really Liberace! And it doesn't feel like a trick.

I'd have to drive an hour to see it at the only theater showing it. :eyes:

23. Yes and I live in South Jersey which wasn't on the list, but it is
showing at the Ritz and I am psyched. I thought that I would have to drive to Philly to see it. Check your local listings, it was staggered and not even advertised in all the local viewing areas.

My friend, his brother and I, are working out a time agreeable for all to see.
