3. Call me Willin' !
I've been waiting for quite a while for Will Pitt to tell me what to do to make things better. And oddly, I woke up this morning hearing NPR report on this and thought to myself "somebody's got to tell these people NO!"

So of course, dope slap to head, I see now it's me needs to tell these people NO!

Still, I'm glad to get a request to do something from somebody who sees it so clearly.

Thanks will!

16. Searching for the thread pointing out that Welfare is 1% of
budget, and estimated welfare fraud is .017% of national Budget.

I know I saw it somewhere here in DU.

I agree with the Fiscal Conservatives that we need a Balanced Budget (like we had way back when back in the late 90's...), but by going after welfare they're barking up the wrong tree!

If you want to balance the budget, let's get serious about it instead of targeting projects on a personal basis.

4. I had a meeting with my asshat congressman
About this last week. He said that nobody would be hurt by the cuts. That they'd make it all up by preventing fraud. But, his definition of fraud was a lot different than yours or mine.

According to him, the fraud occurs when someone with meager assets, transfers them to a relative to be able to qualify for Medicaid. He pretty much said, you can't have any assistance until you've already lost everything.

He also said that people on Medicaid had far too many benefits for things like range of medicines covered, and mental health care.

6. And I hope you said he was full of it, that he has no
concept of what it's like to face a mountain of medical bills when a loved one falls to a chronic or deadly illness. God I hate this, "we can't be giving welfare to those people mentality" when they are the biggest welfare recipients of them all. It's our tax money that pays for their salaries and privileges like it pays for safety net programs for the ordinary citizen to keep them from drowing in debt.

allow 45 million Americans to have. Burns me up! :grr:

11. Thanks for making this so visible, Will.
Ray of Light has had one up since early this morning. It was in GD Politics and we boosted it to 3rd from the top on the Greatest Page with 38 nominations and counting.

But the title wasn't clear, and his edit on the title didn't make the cut when it flipped over to the Greatest Page.
