Tropical Storm Wilma (is this a first tropical storm with a "w")?
One of the models takes it in as a hurricane into the lower coast of Louisiana.

>>>>snip
The forecast guidance still predicts that this will be Tropical Storm Wilma on Monday, and Hurricane Wilma by Wednesday. This storm reminds me of Rita, which spent about three days trying to organize in the Bahamas before finally solidifying its inner core and rapidly intensifying. This storm may behave similarly, and intensificatiion into a major hurricane by late in the week is a possibility that several of the computer models are calling for.

1. I don't think those lines are models
Based on the graphic, the lines are tracks of October storms that passed within 200 miles of Wilma.

2. IIRC yes and no.

Memory is fuzzy but I seem to remember the Weather Channel said this ties us with the most prolific hurricane season on record, but that they were not naming storms back then.

those are past hurricanes.

NOAA has been very accurate this year but their five day forecast doesn't give us a clear picture yet but hints at anywhere in the gulf.

Weather Underground cites two models that suggest somewhere between Central and Western Florida.

Of course no model suggests it, but that historical map shows that it could continue south, then turn north east and head right back through Jamaica - Noooooooooooooooo! We're already flooded out with associated rain.

Edit -sp.

13. Wilma ties the record for the most hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean
If there is one more hurricane then it would be called 'Alpha' - they go with the Greek Alphabet.

Technically Hurricane Season ends on November 1st; however, with the warmer waters in the Gulf I could see one getting through after season

19. Actually, hurricane season ends Nov. 30th. It goes 6 months.
You just hardly ever get a storm in November.

21. Well models now suggest that it
will be Central or South Florida. Of course this will depend on how long Wilma remains stationary.
