Judy Miller's explanatory piece left unanswered, there's this one:

When and how were Judy's notes discovered after being lost for two years?

I also find it totally incredible that she couldn't remember who her source was for the "Valerie Flame" entry in her "reporter's notebook".

Remember, Judy was working on a story at the time and, supposedly, she's a Pulitzer Prize winner.

You read this stuff and you have to think about Pinnochio.

1. The same applies to everyone in this drama. No one remembers
anything, including Rove and Libby. Who knows what everyone else has said? And I understand there have been a load of witnesses.
These people are many things, but dumb isn't one of them. Selective memories seem to rule this crowd.

2. Dole/Bolton etc. visits to Miller in Jail to get "story straight", along
with creepy coded Libby "aspens" letter.

3. Ugh-Bolton. He shouldn't even be where he is, and again, a
* crony got a job (illegally). Thanks for reminding me he's another upstanding member of this junta that visited Miller. The plot thickens!

see if she could find more notes in addition to those she had already turned over in response to the grand jury's subpoena. She handed over the newly "discovered" notes over on Oct 7.

That Fitz and her attorney urged her to look again was an odd little bit that was leaked to the press likely by her attorney putting a good face on whatever Fitz had on her to get her to turn over more notes.

No indication that the notes were actually lost. You know, with Judy's memory, I'm sure she just forgot. Even after the subpoena. ;)
