People, in here. Let's talk about language.
Carolab and I both posted threads on a lecture by a Jack Wheeler yesterday that was very disturbing. I'm very unnerved by the lack of attention this has received on these boards. This morning, we have heard a CSPAN caller regurgitate some of the language that was part of Wheeler's diatribe. We need to get onto this Post-Newtie lexicon. These people are descending into the pit as they become more desparate. I know I'm sounding like a nag, but this is really bothering me and I don't see how we can sit by and just treat this like more of the same crap. This is getting to a whole new level of ugliness.

I refer you to the following threads and comments:

7. New hate language learned from CSPAN yesterday.

See the above thread and the one linked to it from yesterday regarding some vile hate speech from a Jack Wheeler broadcast on CSPAN. People, wake up, the Rs are in the process of creating a new level of lingua Gingerich. This is the level of political discource they are aiming for now and it need to be stopped before it gets started. THis man needs to be denounced sharply for this rhetoric. It fuels division and fear.

used to fuel divisiveness. Read my post above. Until there is an organized and meaningful denunciation of this crap, we will continue to hear it. We need to quit letting them define who we are. Stand up and fight it. Every time one of us criticizes the Dems in office now we hear that we are taking out our own. When we say that Dems are rolling over on major votes and issues, we are told we're disloyal. Then we hear "OMG, they are talking nasty about us." Well, let get some faces out there with voices behind them telling the world that this type of speech is unacceptable and telling the world that the face of America is not what is being portrayed now. Do not just look at the issue. The tactic they are using is designed to detract from the issue. Neuralize the tactic.

3. We need to get vocal, and our
leaders need to get vocal before lexicons develop and spread. That this speech was broadcast on CSPAN is really bothering me. It is beyond criticism of policy, it was hate speech. Somehow this broadcast seemed to sanction it. Not one Dem lead could be found responding to it at any level.

2. Words have power.
We need to be aware of the power of words. That is the power of things like freedom of speech, and a free press. And so we should always be willing to examine how we and others use words .... and sometimes abuse words. Thank you for this post.

5. IMO, John Edwards is one
national figure who can and should speak out against this creep. I'm going to hear Edwards speak Monday in Chapel Hill. If there's Q&A, I will certainly try to get in on it and bring this up.

BTW, here's the list of locations and dates for his current college tour:

6. YES, I saw
that while waiting on Snotty Scotty! I noticed all of the pasty old white men in the room as well. Perhaps after a "die off" of these dinosaurs, some of this nonsense will disappear.

I REALLY was enraged when he went on about "Libruls" and then all those folks who get addicted to the public dole. :puke:
