Arianna: Judy Miller looked like an aspen losing sap

And I know you can’t tell a book -- or a $1.2 million book deal -- by its cover but, by all outward appearances, the hour Miller spent testifying this morning was not an easy one. On her way into the courthouse, decked out in a bright red blouse and oversized shades, Miller was all smiles, chatting easily with Bennett. Afterwards, she was decidedly less bubbly. Kind of like, oh, I don’t know, an Aspen tree clustered with other Aspens that have been hit by a hatchet and are starting to lose sap?

4. I read an interesting thing about Aspen trees. The trees can be

burned to the ground but the roots survive underground. I think the Aspen is one of the few trees that has root systems that survive fires.

human behavior. :D... I'm delighting in MoDo's great Catty Trash of Miers and Arianna...always has her own insights.

We females are often denigrated as "Catty" when it's just that we see the stuff the "Big Men" miss. We have our job...and the best of the observers who manage to still have "jobs" in the M$M...do a great complement to the "Wags" and "Pontificators" who always steer clear of getting into the "personal stuff." The "Intellectual Pundits" who rule the Internet. I won't put "Wonkette" into the same category of an Ivans or a Dowd or even Arianna. Gossip, though, has it's own place and both Males and Females have been very successful there.

Yet....Karl Rove and his Religious Right Helpers trashed relentlessly using the very same "down to earth" (so-called Catty stuff) that female observers with a "sharp tongue and good insight" have done for generations.

Good on Arianna, and Molly and MoDo...and all who give a little "Spicy Insight and good Cutting Edge Observations" to our Political Drama.

:TOAST: And there are many I didn't mention...who've been out there doing it for way long. Along with some of our Gay Writer/Observers who had the same penchant to pick up the female incisive wit, and ability to skewer to the heart of it.

We need all of them to confront this DARK THING that has TAKEN OVER.
