I just heard Tony Snow say that those conversations should be made public when the Dems make all their conversations with lobbyists public.

Is this not a perfect strawman that Snow has set up?

Both sides talk to lobbyists, but the Most Powerful Man In The Country (Rove) giving a briefing to a lobbyist, especially in this case, has a direct bearing on Miers' confirmation.

What the Democrats are asking for is at least as much information as Dobson has been given. They are about to approve the appointment for life of one of the most powerful people on earth and just want a little information. Why is that a problem?
