in the gulf coast and all you get are counts of the found dead.

When do they start thinking in terms of missing and presumed dead?

Why is America not talking about the huge numer still listed as missing?

WTF?

3. It's going to take the black leaders to start screaming about this
It just seems like people are numb to the fact that so many died during that storm. I mean you hear of hundreds dead in the latest earthquake and it grips your heart, but then you realize that the same thing has just happened here and it makes you wonder-- where is the outrage? I just don't get it, but I do appreciate threads like this that won't let me get comfortable and complacent.

4. Looking at that picture
It's impossible to believe that the official number of dead is even close to the truth. And what about Mississippi? Why is the media so silent on how many died in that state?

Thank you for this thread. I was outraged when I saw the mother of the missing woman in Aruba, make a comeback on the cable stations, and even when she was asked how she felt now that so many others had suffered so badly, it did not seem to penetrate to either the questioner (who I think, just wanted to get that out of the way) or this very selfish woman.

I have yet to see anyone who has lost a loved one in NO or Mississippi get this kind of attention from the media, and it is OUTRAGEOUS to put it mildly.

Only Anderson Cooper is still willing to even cover the story, and I suspect he has been told to 'move on'. He did say this week that 'although the rest of the media has moved on from this story' he believes there is still so much suffering out there that he must continue to report on it. Good for him, but why is this happening?

I want to see each night that that woman is on, ten victims of Katrina being given eqaul time to find their loved ones.

This selfish woman is calling for a boycott of Aruba until her daughter is found. Why is she not calling for the same kind of action until the thousands of victims of NO and Miss are found? I am sorry for her loss, but look at the attention she got!! Not one NO victim has even come close to getting that kind of attention.

It is disgusting and we should boycott the advertisers of any show that continues to give her airtime, and who refuse to do the same for the victims of Katrina.

7. You silly goose..they are not "missing"
They have just 'relocated"..They are enjoying the "good life" in their new hometowns, with nice new apartments and high paying jobs.. They have just chosen to distance themselves from the greedy ones in their families who insist on living off the government.:sarcasm:

9. If Bin Laden were blonde, maybe that would get the media's attention
Remind everyone of Bush's flip-flop about getting him dead or alive and then saying he didn't care anymore.
