Bomb threat disrupts Rolling Stones concert

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A bomb threat halted a Rolling Stones concert in Charlottesville, Virginia overnight, but police found nothing and the band returned to the stage about 45 minutes later, officials said on Friday.

The threat was made in a phone call just before 9 p.m. local time on Thursday and was "specific to the stage area" of the concert at the University of Virginia's Scott stadium, which was packed with 50,000 fans, said university spokeswoman Carol Wood.

"Word was got to (Stones frontman) Mick Jagger and he announced that the band would take a 10-minute break," Wood said.

The band left the stage and police with sniffer dogs, already in the stadium for checks before the concert, searched the area.

NY to Washington on Sept. 24th. And of course there were two instances of on air interviews interrupted so the Capitol could respond to a bomb threat - one involved the Newshour with Jim Lehrer as he was interviewing Senator Bidden a couple of months ago.

4. Don't forget the Waxman Hearing

when he brought in the ex CIA guys like Johnson and they got STOPPED for a bit by a Bomb threat in a nearby building and JUST as Johnson (serendipity I guess) was explaining that Plame was working as an NOC LOOKING FOR ACTUAL Biochemical, Nukular, and other WMD..

I loved the CNN reporter, actually BUYING the "terra" crap.. "Gee, that's so wierd isn't it? Those poor people in the front seats must have been SO nervous - of course the Stones left the building so they were alright.."
