Just remember - DC media KNEW about Rove outing Plame ALL LAST YEAR
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 04:23 PM by blm
and chose not to spill the beans to the voting public while they hailed Rove's "genius" and Bush's "straight talk"....in other words...the media is complicit in the attempt to cover up for KNOWN LIARS.

Tweety, for example, was one of the worst.....they ALL knew and did nothing.

4. If 6 journos were contacted personally by Rove, they knew. Tweety was one
of them.

And DC journos talk to each other alot.

Tweety mentioned it a few times early on when it first came out and then CLAMMED UP.

11. Wasn't it Tweety, Russert, Pincus, Miller, Cooper and Novak?
I believe those are the 6 journalists (please someone correct me if I have someone in there who shouldn't be). So, wouldn't you think those are the guys that the Administration relies on to carry their water? The ones I am the most unfamilar with are Cooper and Pincus.

Tweety - always to be relied on to carry the party line, Russert trying hard to maintain the facade, but as we all know "integrity is for paupers", Miller - the Chalabi mouthpiece, Novak- well-known right-wing dyspeptic shill. They can all be seen rooting around park benches in Rock Creek Park on alternate Thursdays picking up their paychecks from the Mockingbird First Bank and Trust.

12. Mockingbird First Bank and Trust ............... CLASSIC!!!!!!!
Pincus is a longtime shill pretending to be a reporter for the Washington Post.

Cooper is married to Mandy Grumwald - a top campaign figure for Clinton. So, no way did the Clintons not know that Rove was the one who outed Plame. Why did Cooper hold off until after the election to spill the beans?

2. I know and they still don't "get it". They talk about it like it is just
normal politics.

3. Exactly. The crime WAS the outing of Plame but the media acts like
...reporters are covering up sources who gave them info.

Giving reporters the information about Plame WAS THE CRIME.

Gee...you think it might have influenced the election if the media has bothered to tell the truth?

5. That's exactly what they did. They pleased their corporate masters instead
of doing their obvious duties as journalists OR as citizens.

7. Thanks. The MSM let itself be corrupted. We should never
forget they are complicit in each scandal and atrocity committed by these criminals.

8. The media will NEVER point the finger at themselves for abetting traitors
in the White House. That's why it's important for us to remind the public.

10. Many knew, but CHOSE not to report it...
The media ought to be ashamed of themselves for withholding such information from the public.

13. This is a point that brings me to stroke like blood pressure
The Fact that most of the national political reporters
were effectively in a legal straight jacket as well as
their corporate legal departments.

Did they recuse themselves from reporting and let other
less ethically challenged journalists report on it?

No, instead they gave unedited, unlimited air time
to Nixon henchmen, swift boat liars for Bush.
They did nothing.

I am inconsolable about the filth in the us media

Especially, Russert and Matthews.

May they spend all of eternity watching re-runs of
their own filthy shows.

Bastards!

14. "But, but, we can't report the administration's crimes before an election"
"people will get mad at us"

Seriously. That was the reaction by the media.

"If we tell people what a criminal Bush is, if we report on the lies he has told, and if we report what looks to be treason carried out by high-ranking members of his administration with his knowledge and consent, then people won't be as likely to vote for him.

We don't want to affect the election.

By the way, did you know John Kerry is a cowardly, lying flip-flopper who probably never served in Vietnam? Up next, six Bush Supporters who say they saw John Kerry conspire with Jane Fonda and a group of space aliens to help the US lose the Vietnam war."

15. I wrote an essay
three days ago, posted as "German Shepherds and the Berlin Wall," that I think helps to explain why some journalists (such as Matthews) have failed the public that they serve. In many ways, the lack of honesty on their part is worse than the betrayal of the public by a slim like Judith Miller, or a nasty poodle like Robert Novak pissing on the public's right to know.

16. Could we keep this discussion going
I would like to get a focused effort going

Starting with Russert, going at his sponsors and
bosses.

We can get to them if we want to.

17. Anybody interested?
Having been involved with the immensely effective
Stopdrlaura campaign I know we can at least make
Russert a lot more uncomfortable than he is right now.

He seems to think he's untouchable like the freaks that
he claims to cover.

First Russert, then Matthews.

19. What I mean by get them
I mean make their sponsors life miserable until
they suspend Russert and put someone in there who
is not in the plame case up to their necks.

I suggest visable protests at various NBC studios
around the country, perhaps on a sunday morning.
Combined with monitoring his program to identify
high value sponsors and them focused contact with
the sponsors to express our extreme objections to the obstruction of justice as he did last year.

In short, at least try to run Russert off the air.

20. The problem is that GE makes MORE money through BIG defense dollars
and huge tax breaks with BushInc's policies.

They just USE the NBC news department for public relations now.

War and GOP budgets make BILLIONS for them. They could care less about journalistic integrity.
