Plame and the Aramco connection...
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 01:52 PM by Junkdrawer
The one thing I have a feeling is being seriously under played in the Plame outing story is the Aramco connection. From what I hear, the Plame leak fatally damaged long-term investigations into Aramco - the Saudi oil company that controls the huge Saudi oil empire.

Unless I miss my guess, much of the money and muscle for what we here call BushCo comes from Aramco. And if it could have been shown that foreign money were controlling US foreign policy, wouldn't that comprise a treason scandal 1000% more important than the outing of a single CIA agent?

Is it possible the Plame-Gate goes far deeper than many of us guess?

1. Just the tip of the iceburg
Symbolman just finished a documentary that explains the whole thing - all the connections, Aramco, Plame, all the characters involved, the Downing Street Minutes - so much is intertwined, it's unbelievable.

They didn't just out Valerie Plame to get back at Wilson - it had much deeper implications.

From http://www.takebackthemedia.com about the film Rove's War:

"There's more to the outing of Plame than meets the eye. Rove's War explores the relationships between Dick Cheney and John Bolton, Judith Miller and Scooter Libby, Bolton's thugs and their internal battle against the State Department, George Tenet rolling over for Bush and Cheney, concealing the proof that there was no Iraq nuclear capability from the public since 1991 -- proof provided long before Bush sent our troops to die for his own purposes. They all knew there were no nukes in Iraq for more than 20 years.

You'll find out how they blew Plame's undercover status in the Brewster and Jennings Company to protect the Saudi ARAMCO oil company -- known for one of their subsidiaries actually named an oil tanker "Condoleeza Rice" -- which many in the Bush administration have an interest. The outing wasn't just to punish Joe Wilson, it was meant to send a message to other whistleblowers. A shockwave radiated through the CIA and spies all over the world, putting hundreds of lives at risk, on just a political whim."

5. Chevron is a subsidiary of Saudi ARAMCO? I've read repeatedly that
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 02:48 PM by leveymg
the tanker SS Condoleeza Rice (now renamed) was owned by Chevron, below:

As for Chevron, it has merged with Texaco, and they run a joint-venture, Motiva Enterprises, with Saudi ARAMCO and RD Shell that refines and retails gasoline in the US. Here's the Saudi Ministry of Petroleum brief description of that jv:

www.mopm.gov.sa/html/en/outkingdom_e.html

Saudi Aramco Companies

Saudi Aramco monitors world markets very closely for opportunities of joint ventures in refining and marketing. Up to date billion barrels of Saudi oil have been marketed through the following overseas Saudi Aramco joint venture projects:

"Motiva Enterprise" in the United States of America:
In July 1998, Motiva was established as a limited liability company by Shell, Texaco and Saudi Refining Inc (SRI) after consolidation of the assets of Star Enterprise (a joint venture between Texaco and SRI) with Shell. In October 2001, Texaco merged with a subsidiary of Chevron and in accordance with federal government regulations, SRI and Shell purchased Texaco’s ownership interest in Motiva. The ownership interest of SRI and Shell increased to 50% each after Texaco’s departure.

Motiva refines, distributes and markets petroleum products under the Shell and Texaco brands through its network of wholesalers and retailers operating in the Gulf and East Coast of the United States. Products are manufactured at four refineries located in Delaware City, Delaware; Convent, Louisiana; Norco, Louisiana; and Port Arthur, Texas with total refining capacity of 820,000 bpd.

3. Junkdrawer, have you read this?
A year ago a bunch of du'ers tried to find out "why" Plame would have been outed. And here is a synopsis of what we found.

4. That seems to focus in on the WMD connections....
I'm wondering about the Saudi money connections. Buying up media companies takes money - lots of money.

And it seems the Saudis supplied the money and muscle behind 9/11.
