Just asking. Private schools tend to be pricey, and will only become more so as demand increases.

12. I already homeschool
I don't want the state or local gov't involved in my child's education let alone Bushco.

If it gets that bad and I hope it doesn't, I'd be thrilled to show the rest of you the ropes.

13. do you think that's a viable option for all parents?
In particular, I have in mind the parents of a lot of the kids in my school, who are themselves semi-literate or illiterate. That's a lot of ropes to show...

14. No
but if the public school system is further compromised it may be the best option for many families. I hope it doesn't get to that point but I'm not optimistic at the moment.

or more educated friends and relatives will help to guide them. As I said I hope it never get to that point. Just because I homeschool it doesn't mean I think everybody should.

19. it's headed to that point now, starting with disadvantaged kids.

I have no problem with you homeschooling, but I guess I'd like to know what our response as a group will be to the overall problem, since we evidently aren't going to oppose the coming of the problem in the first place.

Self-instruct? They'll do that, all right. Won't be in the three Rs, but they self-instruct now. In fact, they're quite adept at it.

18. So my dad who is a life long Democrat, a Union arbitrator and organizer
told me once that republicans believe only that those who can afford an education, deserved to be educated. Seems he knows from where he speaks, given the current trend among republicans in power.
