Why today might feel worse to women
I posted this thought on the end of another thread
but feel like it might be an important point.

Women might feel awful today knowing that men
voted for a known sexual predator as the leader
of all of California. Kind of like reporting
an assault and the predator getting away with it
and even lauded in some circles.

The victims of A probably feel victimized all over again
because they came out in public and people heard their stories
but voted for A anyway.

Love to hear a psychologist's take on this.

1. Not just because men voted for him
but because a hell of a lot of women voted for him too. That's the real kick in the ass.

2. The graphic I saw on the tube last night...
showed narrowly won among women as well...so much for that... Of course, that's what the cooked books show anyway.

3. He got a lot of women's votes
And had two Kennedy women kissing him (who- granted - seem to have a remarkably high tolerance for humiliation).

10. check out this picture
and evidently Maria's tolerance of her brutish hub.

It sure looks like he's not so much 'holding her hand' as he is holding her arm up.

Sheesh.

4. thanks, RFU
I know I feel awful. What has been wrenching is listening to all the stupid celebrity vbjs for Arnold on the news. (that's verbal blow job, btw) Even NPR was presenting half truths and glossing over a lot of truths.

I listened to a bunch of men justify it all somehow this morning, because of Clinton. I gave them hell. Loudly, and thoroughly.

I am so sick of my gender being regarded as unimportant. Where were the men, rising up to criticize Arnie? Where were the big name Democrats - besides silent. Women are still no more than a set of hooters to a fair ammount of the male population. I am not just feeling awful - I am angry. Really angry.

As a recovering alcholic, my recourse today was a good loud public rant, a big cuppa joe, and a very expensive new pair of shoes.

5. That's why I think women need to really start speaking up about this
This behavior can no longer be condoned (and rewarded).

http://magazine.14850.com/9512/ithindex.html

Percentage of women who will be the victim of sexual assault during their lifetimes: 33%

Percentage of college men who said they would rape if they were "certain they could get away with it": 51%

20. not saying they cancel each other out..
just that Democrats should not be surprised the charges didn't sink Arnold...Dems/NOW/others put a lot of effort into minimizing these same things when Clinton was the target...

and for the record I think the things they are accused of range from very rude to very criminal...and I tend to think they are both guilty of most of the things they are/were accused of

I am thinking calming thoughts at you...
have a good evening

29. Why would you think Clinton is guilty of rape?
He was investigated by his republican enemies for years with millions of your tax dollars and guess what? They found out he has sex with Monica. Do you really think Ken Starr "covered up" a real story of Clinton raping a woman? Do you really think they wouldn't have shouted that from the rooftops if they had evidence?

You just don't get it. Women came on to Clinton. Arnold came onto women. Big difference.

21. I KNOW what your are thinking
because I am too. There is a huge difference between consensual and assault. And please, if they couldn't prove it after a $70 million investigation, then it just did not happen. Do a little, it won't take much, reading of the new books.

I feel like someone dropped me back to the 'barefoot & pregnant" era, I feel like all the work that was done on women's rights were just tossed out like garbage.

8. I saw 45% of women voted for the Groper.
That makes me feel very sick. I saw an interview with a 40-something female who said she voted for him because "we needed change." That doesn't answer why she picked Arnie. I've seen other interviewees say the same thing...they won't really admit they like Arnold or his ideas (what ideas?)...they just say things like "he's determined" or "he's worked hard to get to where he is."

I am at a loss of words to explain why so many women (especially young) seem to be jumping on the bandwagon of anti-feminism in this country. I honestly think they worry more about what color eyeshadow or which designer shoe to buy than what is the character and experience of the person they are voting for.

32. they all probably would line up for a grope by him
They allowed themselves to be pimped by his celebrity. When he fails in office, they will be hollaring the loudest about being deceived by this sexual predator.

And Maria Shrivelled-up is living up to her family destiny to be another beaten down Kennedy wife tolerating her husband's indiscretions and doing a pitiful job defending him to the press.

31. I continue to be amazed at the Clinton comparisons...
- Those who bring up Clinton tend to forget that he was at least subjected to the legal system and made to pay in money and dignity. The Jones case was thrown out so the RWing thugs had to use a case of consensual sex against him on 'moral' grounds.

- Clinton didn't 'get away' with anything. It seems as Arnie WILL get away with a lifetime of sexual harassment against women he believed to be powerless to stop him.

- RWingers use Clinton as an excuse to 'forgive' Arnie. Don't join them in the charade.
