Don't forget the 16 words.... ***Bush Knew***
Edited on Mon Oct-03-05 12:38 AM by garybeck
Many people talk about impeachment. DSM folks say the general atmosphere of lies surrounding the buildup and start of the war is what it's about. I agree, but I think in order to actually impeach, there has to be a very clear focus on a simple impeachable offense.

With Clinton, it wasn't that he had sexual relations. It was that he committed purgery.

With Bush, I don't think we are going to succede if we say Bush should be impeached because he lied about weapons of mass destruction. I think there has to be a single pinpoint act that he committed that everyone refers to, and which can be proven that "he knew." and "he lied."

So, when people say "Bush Knew," everyone should know EXACTLY what we're talking about. We're not talking about how he knew that there were no WMD. We're not talking about how he knew Saddam was not connected to Bin Laden. (actually we are talking about all those things and more, but my point is that we have to be focused).

I think it is time for us to really focus on an impeachable offense and not let it slide.

Bush said:

"The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."

Because this was in an address to Congress, and before the American people, it is clearly an impeachable offense, if it can be shown that he knew the statement was false.

Interestingly, the Plame investigation is related to this issue. Plame leads to Wilson. Wilson leads to Niger. Niger leads to the 16 words. I hope Fitzgerald is on track.

With our without Fitzgerald, we as the American people should go back to those 16 words and beat the drum. That's where our pot of gold is.

5. I had this feeling too
Edited on Mon Oct-03-05 01:47 AM by FreedomAngel82
I remember reading about this for the first time earlier this year and had this feeling he was going after something bigger then Karl Rove. I definitley believe ALL of them were involved. Bush uses the same people and keeps a tight group so I'm sure they probably all knew.

4. I hope he tells us soon
I think this will shock the whole country whatever it is. Either with surprise or disappointment. I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I can't help it. Something inside me is saying this is it and to be ready. Isn't he supposed to have something as early as this week?

6. Bush Knew 9/11 Was Coming
Richard Clarke warned Condi of the al Qaeda threat, and proposed a
plan to deal with it.

The Bushites got warnings from 11 foreign countries. They got a
warning from the Mossad that named at least four of the alleged
hijackers, including Mohammed Atta.

They got warnings from three FBI offices. Former Clinton-impeachment
prosecutor David Schippers had warnings from FBI agents frustrated by
apathy above. He called around Washington to relay their information
about upcoming attacks in lower Manhattan, and couldn't get anyone to
return his calls.

The White House had SAM missiles installed. At the Genoa G-8
conference in 7/01 the Italians installed SAMs at the airport after
warnings that Osama planned aerial attacks. W slept on an aircraft
carrier that was presumably defended by SAMs.

In August, while he was ignoring the "Bin Laden Determined to Strike
in US" memo, Bush had 24 hour fighter cover, according to Rep. Cynthia
McKinney.

And in Florida on 9/10/01, W had SAMs at his hotel in Sarasota.

But we are told the Pentagon had none. Even though three packages
like this are sufficient to defend an aircraft carrier:

7. Impeachment requires the House. Bush could eat a live baby on TV and
not get impeached right now....

9. Excellent analysis.
Logic -- you've got to love it.

Plame leads to Wilson.
Wilson leads to Niger.
Niger leads to the 16 words.
The phrase leads to a lie.
The lie leads to an elective war.
The elective war leads to death of Americans.

All of this leads to IMPEACHMENT.

14. Not to even mention the fact that Iraq HAD URANIUM. Under UN lock & key
for years...and BUSH didn't even bother to order US troops to secure it for 6 weeks; not until the IAEA went public about it.

Bottom line; *I* KNEW it was bullshit; I have dated posts that prove I knew it was bullshit; and the "president" of the United States says he DIDN'T KNOW??? I don't think so.
